Welcome back to Philly Finds, your occasional dose of things to see and do around the city.
This past weekend was simply glorious. I went to the farmer’s market with my little iced coffee and bought a little bouquet of flowers and had the cutest of days. I cherish these type of week afternoons.
I like to think that I’m the person who hates the PPA the most (a title I don’t want??), but I think that Philly comedian Chris Aileo has me beat. When I first read a Philly Mag article titled This Guy Hates the PPA More Than You, I was aghast! I-I’m right here! However, after watching the incredible vi ..read more

I had first heard about the Berkshires from reality TV institution The Real Housewives of New York, by one Dorinda Medley. I can’t write this post and not mention Blue Stone Manor. I’m glad I got that off my chest.
From what I had seen on TV, I envisioned the Berkshires to be charming, idyllic, and a hell of a good time. And my recent visit to the town of Pittsfield in the heart of the Berkshires proved all of those assumptions to be true. A weekend in the Berkshires is perfect for a romantic getaway, girl’s weekend, or a solo trip like I did. However your trip might be, you’ll find everyone y ..read more

Welcome back to Philly Finds – we’re just gonna hop right into it.
My current mission: Superfoile opened yesterday, and I’m hoping to stop by sometime next week.
Flower Show
I’m veryyyyy excited to be checking out one of my favorite annual events this week – the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s The Flower Show. This year’s theme is Electric Garden, and from all of the photos I’ve seen so far, it looks absolutely incredible. It ends this Sunday, 3/12, so go while you still can!

I’ m thrilled to welcome back to the blog UK-based artist Francesca Louise!
Francesca was last around this part of the internet when she released her EP Melancholic Antidote, and has been up to quite a bit since we last spoke. If you haven’t been properly introduced to her yet, allow me to do so.
Francesca Louise is an indie/folk singer-songwriter from Liverpool, whose soulful Carole King/Laura Marling inspired vocals paired with songwriting influences such as Joni Mitchell makes her one to watch.
In 2022 she appeared on The Voice UK, and has also performed up and down the country playing acou ..read more

Welcome to the first Philly Finds of 2023!
If you can believe it, which you probably can knowing my history, I began writing this Philly Finds post on December 27, 2022. In fact, the first few lines read, “How were your holidays? Did you survive? I for one am already missing being a lady of leisure.” I’ve still been trying to implement a lady of leisure lifestyle ever since I wrote that…
And speaking of being a leisurely lady – in a few weeks, I’m heading to Miami for a much needed girl’s trip. Much needed in the sense that I haven’t travelled much within the past few months, and I have been c ..read more

A New Year’s resolution of mine was to “do something I loved as a kid.” I toyed with the idea of taking dance lessons again, or maybe an art class. But it was the idea of figure skating that called to me.
So for five Sundays in a row, I began taking figure skating lessons again. I envisioned slow, Sunday mornings of making my coffee and a lovely breakfast, and then off to figure skate. I would wear cute workout clothes and braid my hair. How chic, how romantic! I needed something to look forward to, and this was it.
I can’t remember for certain how long I skated for but I think it was for near ..read more

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve shown Philly musicians some love on the blog, and we’re changing that today.
Rising indie-rock duo Running in Circles dropped their self-titled debut EP today. The group stands out for their innate ability to blend together an array of sounds derived from both current and classic music trends. In Running in Circles, the audience follows the journey of a young-adult navigating love, heartbreak, and maturity as they enter a new stage of their life. It’s safe to say that this EP represents the group’s most well produced body of work to date.

We like to make resolutions and plans for ourselves when the New Year is upon us, don’t we? Maybe there’s something that we’d like to do to start the new year of on the right foot. If this sounds like you, I think I just might have the perfect thing for you.
Let’s head on over to Redwood Beauty and Wellness, a wellness studio located in Roxborough. I went right before the holiday madness, and it was truly such a lovely way to center and cleanse myself in every sense of the word.
Before we get into the treatment that I received, let me share some of their other services. They also offer IV dri ..read more

I love decorating my home, and especially this year for the holidays I’ve really gotten into it. Since mid-November, I’ve been searching for pieces that can make my apartment feel more festive, be it pinecones, garland or mini Christmas trees.
So I was very excited to chat with Sean Kelly, interior designer and founder of Styled by Sean, a full-service interior design company, that combines creativity, passion and expertise to take clients from clutter to clarity. Styled by Sean provides not only interior design for its clients, but offers turn-key moving solutions, home organization, personal ..read more
