A memorial for a fallen New Jersey trooper suffered “significant” damage after a man allegedly driving under the influence plowed into the roadside remembrance.
New Jersey State Police said the 38-year-old driver crashed into a memorial constructed for Trooper Thomas Hanratty on Aug. 31, around 2 p.m. on Interstate 78 in Summit. When officers responded, police said they found firefighters already on scene providing first-aid to the man.

A person was taken to the hospital after a shooting that happened on a SEPTA platform under City Hall, according to a spokesperson with the transit agency.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. on the platform at the 15th Street Station for the Market-Frankford Line in Center City, SEPTA officials said.
One person was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries, officials explained. Their condition remains unknown.

A Bucks County man accused of killing his father and holding his decapitated head in a viral YouTube video was held for trial following a court hearing.
Justin Mohn, 32, of Levittown, faces murder, terrorism, theft and other charges in the slaying of his father, Michael Mohn, on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024.
Justin Mohn was arrested after he posted a 14-minute, 35-second video, titled “Mohn’s Militia – Call to Arms for American Patriots,” online in which he displayed the decapitated head of his father at least twice, investigators said.

A Delta aircraft clipped the tail of another plane Tuesday morning at an Atlanta airport.
The collision happened just after 10 a.m. at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport while Delta Flight 295 was taxiing for departure and struck Endeavor Air Flight 5526, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
Video taken at the airport appears to show the Endeavor plane with its tail hanging off the side of the aircraft.
There are no reports of injuries and maintenance crews are evaluating for damage, Delta Air Lines said.

Firefighters in southern New Jersey are trying to contain a forest fire burning in Berkeley Township that has thus far not threatened any structures.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service has yet to give a size estimate for the blaze, which broke out around 8 p.m. Monday in an area not far from the Garden State Parkway near Exit 77.
The fire was not contained at all Monday night. Firefighters were initially rebuffed in their early efforts to surround the fire due to its “erratic” behavior, the service said in an online post.

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker plans to hold a town hall meeting on Wednesday to hear community members’ thoughts and concerns about the proposed 76ers arena.
The town hall is set to be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The S&P 500 posted a second winning session on Tuesday as Wall Street sought to find its footing in a turbulent September.
