Taking off trousers

I’m not sure if this is an eczema thing or a normal person thing but when I take my work trousers off after a long shift it’s as if I’ve just gained access to a full days worth of itches that have accumulated throughout the day if that makes sense ahah. But then I’ll just itch uncontrollably for about 5/10 minutes, does anyone else experience this?? If so what can I do other than itch ? submitted by /u/Beneficial-Catch1057 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Are you able to get your eyebrows waxed without irritating them?

I have had eczema since I was a baby and even as an adult it covers 70% of my body. With some luck, I may be able to start Rinvoq soon. I usually get my eyebrows threaded. But honestly, I have a terrible pain tolerance (I have fibromyalgia so I feel like if I have pain in one spot, I feel it in others). Has anyone tried waxing? Do you have any irritation and how is the pain given you have eczema? submitted by /u/pink-peas [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is this eczema routine ok for a 3 month old baby?

I have a 3 month old that recently developed eczema and I just want to make sure what I'm doing is enough to keep it under control. It's pretty bad on her cheeks, it's all over her face, shoulders, arms, body. Aside from my evening towel bath to clean the face, behind the ears, neck, pits, behind the knees. I'll put Aveeno for baby all over. Bottle feed her, by that time the Aveeno isn't as tacky anymore so I apply Aquaphor overtop of the really bad spots. Once I put her to bed I'll pop by every now and then to check the really dry flaky spots on her face and apply aquaphor over it if I feel ..read more

Hey all! Before I start, this group has been a fantastic discovery. Your anecdotes and recommendations have been a massive help over the past few months. Even just knowing others who have gone through or are going through similar experiences as myself helps. I live in Northern Canada (North by even Canadian Standards), where it can dip as low as -50 C in the winter and +30 C in the summer. It's also arid year-round. Is anyone else used to managing their eczema in a climate like this? Before I moved up to this area (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories), I felt like I had just gotten a good hand ..read more

Is it ok to use old steroid cream?

I’m getting desperate I’ve had this patch on my face for over a month now and it keeps fading in and out even when I keep the same routine of just vanicream cleanser and moisturizer and la roche posay cicaplast balm. I keep all of my steroid creams when I go to the derm, but I only use them for like a week and then the patch is gone. I haven’t had a flare up where I’ve had to use the cream though in like 2 years. I have 0.1% Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP, 0.05% Fluticasone Propionate Cream USP, and 2% Ketoconazole cream. I’d say they’re between 2-4 years old and both basically completely ..read more

Potential flare up on my face and I am completely lost

Hello! I am 20 and have never really had excema before, a few years ago my hand was itchy and then peeled but it only lasted a few days. I woke up the other day with an itchy red bump on my face and since then the itchy bumps have spread to nearly all of my lower face. I have never experienced this before and have no idea what to do. It is so much itchier than I remember it being and I’m having a hard time going about my life as normal. I have been using a Clinique mosturizer and hydrocortisone cream but it just isn’t making a difference. Any advice? submitted by /u/Acceptable_Ad_9007 [visit ..read more

I’m having the worst flare of my life. My whole face is affected. I’ve got it in spots it’s never been before! My cheeks have never had eczema before and yet this time here it is! I am really struggling mentally. I feel sorry for my husband for having such an ugly wife. I feel sorry for my child having to look at my face. I can’t leave the house because makeup doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’m sad, stressed, anxious and hopeless. Has anyone had any luck clearing their facial eczema? Any tips, hints would be fully appreciated. submitted by /u/Hannah-may [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I came on this subreddit looking for help and I have surely found it. I still am not sure what’s causing my eczema and I know it could be much worse. I’m just enjoying having it mostly cleared up for now. But I know there are a lot of people on here who are struggling with this and feel defeated, but I truly believe we can all find what works for us and I just want everyone to stay motivated and to not give up on finding what will work for you. Not only does this condition affect your skin but it can affect relationships and your confidence in general. And that can be very hard, but you can d ..read more
