We have to admit, the first half of 2020 wasn’t ideal. Let’s be honest: it sucked! While we stayed open throughout the lockdown and had a fantastic time with a few stranded backpackers who refused to give up on their dream to explore our beautiful country, we were not able to enjoy what we love the most: introducing you to the best city in the world by showing you around! But there is no reason to throw in the towel (especially cause you want that deposit back, don’t you?), so we are happy to announce we are fully prepared to host you again.

Hana was our first ever Workaway Hostel Volunteer at Horn Ok Please Hostel in October 2017. She helped us by taking night shifts at the hostel so we could finally get some sleep in the very exhausting first weeks after opening. Here she describes what she experienced and felt when she first arrived in India. Mumbai was her first stop on a three-month-long adventure through India.
When I finally decided to go to India for a few months I knew that it will be totally different to my home, the Czech Republic and Europe in general. I did a little research about what I should be prepared for ..read more

Horn Ok Please is a Hostel in Mumbai that chose a rather unusual but definitely unique location: the cosmopolitan vibrant quarter of Bandra. Our aim is to resolve the misconception that the most southern area of Mumbai called Colaba is the best and only spot for travelers to stay. We even made a video to show you how awesome our neighbourhood is. We aren’t denying that there are great historical and architectural highlights in and around Colaba. But you will certainly not regret the decision to stay in Bandra, the ‘queen of suburbs’. Here’s why:

One thing that frustrates a lot of travelers and expats in Mumbai or India is the lack of individual unique cafes with good coffee, wifi and a great ambience to hang out all day. Unfortunately coffee is mostly served in chain coffee houses like Café Coffee Day or Starbucks, all places without soul and character. But Bandra is different. If you’re planning a chilled day with a good book, yummy food and simply delicious coffee or tea, Bandra is the best place for you. Here are our favorite all day hangouts:
