Just for reference, I have been working on the 2nd movement of the Dvorak Cello concerto for around 7 months or so and I have learned the entire Prokofiev Cello sonata. I've learned the entire Boccherini Cello Concerto in b flat and i've done the first movement of haydn in C.
My cello teacher told me that I could try to do the Tchaikovsky Rococo, but if i give up I can try the first movement of Lalo or Schumann.
Is there any hope for me to succeed at that piece considering the pieces I have learned previously?

Hi - this website, "fountainmusic dot co " has super low prices on strings. Is it legit?
It is hard to search - I do not get any relevant results if I search for "fountain music review" - since that is too general. They have a facebook webpage with only a few posts, with the first a few years ago.
PS - this is not spam. I legit want to know if they are legit.

What is this black bar that I saw on the basses and cellos at a recent NSO concert? I've not seen it before.

After playing nonstop for a while, my hand always cramps up and locks, making it really hard to control.
It could be because of the way I press my thumb on my frog, but I need to grip to play loudly. I will have to be playing for ten minutes in a future concert, and my hand always cramps around the 5 minute mark.
Help pls :')

Hi, adult learner here. I have my first recital today and I’m excited, but I’m also dreading it quite a lot. I have my pieces memorized, but I know myself and when my nerves get to me, I tend to slip up, and at times even seem to forget how to read sheet music at all. My bow isn’t as steady when I’m nervous and my wrists tense up and get sore. What makes me more nervous is that most of my teacher’s students are young kids and I worry I’ll look silly being outplayed by someone much younger than me. I do have some experience performing in front of others, as I’ve done a couple of violin recital ..read more

Hello everyone,
I’m looking for method recommendations for teen beginners - not too childish but also not too dry/ heavy? What does everyone use?

I have taken a break on the cello for about 6 years now, I played all throughout school and my freshmen year of college. Last month I decided that I wanted to get back into playing and got myself one, but the issue is I ain’t got no music. Anyone got any recommendations for some songs to get me back into the flow?
