I found a fairly priced Yamaha YTR8335 on a local marketplace, the horn looks great but one thing I noticed was that it doesn’t seem to be in its original case. Should I take this as a red flag and maybe even try to get a bit off the asking price?

I currently take off of a private teacher which I have been with for 4 years now but recently I was suggested another teacher at our local college. Taking off him was a huge eye opener and just two lessons have improved my playing and the way I practice. I’d like to taking lessons off him full time instead as I can’t afford both but I recently have learned he is moving to another state at the end of June so I no longer would he able to take lessons off of him. Is there a point in switching teachers for two months? I feel like it may be awkward to do that and come back to my old teacher. Also ..read more

I've been searching for a while and I don't know of any reliable instruments under 300 or so dollars, is there any reliable website or specific instrument that will be worth it in the end?

I have to learn undercover bossa in jazz band but I can barely hit an A and the only practice I have is playing at home with practice mute and I feel that the mute restricts my capablity. How should I have my embosure to hit higher notes with a mute?

I have a music theory test coming up, and one question is based on when playing a chord, should the fifth and third be sharper or flatter?
For example if I have a C as the root, should the E be lipped up or down to be flat or sharp, and should the G be adjusted to change for that? Im hoping I can find some help on here!

Only bad thing about it is the looks. Stated that everything else works fine.

Hi all. Just picked up a new case at a local shop, a Gator GL-TRUMPET-A. I'm replacing my dad's 1950s leather suitcase-style one, which had a cool compartment under the trumpet for storing stuff, two mouthpiece holders, and a well big enough for three mutes.
This new one is narrower, yes, but on further examination the sole storage space inside the case appears to be useless. It's a narrow channel next to the trumpet. When you close the case, it doesn't secure the channel; so anything you put in there will fall onto the trumpet when the case is turned upright. Am I missing something?
