Today, I did a lot of thinking about feedback loops. One of my favourite things to do is experiment with video feedback and the infinite patterns it can generate, so I reorganized my video gear to give me some new and interesting loops that would interact with each other. The MicroKORG is a very very cool synth in the sense that you can use it to create very interesting hybrid instruments like combining it with the ARP2600 By connecting the MicroKORG's MIDI out to the MIDI in of your synth and then connecting the audio output of your external synth into the audio input (2) of the MicroKORG you can play your 2nd machine from within the synth engine of the microkorg-- free to use its envelopes, filters, and effects So for this video all the sounds you hear (for the most part) are coming directly from the ARP and then are being pushed through the subtractive synth ..read more

The MicroKORG Crystal is whats holding my interest these days, go figure. the OG MK was my very first synth so going back to it feels like a return to the basics for me and it's like riding my favourite bike from when I was a kid. The MicroKORG is actually a very powerful synthesizer compared to a lot of whats available today. It may only have 4 voices, but you can still split them into two layers and create pads with layered arps on top which is my favourite.
