Looking to improve my credit & knock out some debt. My bank recommended Greenpath as this is who they partner with. I spoke with an agent there & came to the understanding that the accounts that I gave them would be closed & that my credit would take a hit for that in the short run, but that by making consistent payments it would rise in the long run. I’m weary because I don’t want my credit to continue taking a hit & we all know it takes forever for your score to go back up. Is this a wise journey to embark on?

Not sure what tag it falls under but I recently got my SSN and before I was using my ITIN number for all my credit lines. I have good great on my ITIN (720) and have 2 credit cards, a couple payed off auto loans and a current auto loan but my banks have been telling me that I can transfer my credit cards to my SSN but my previous history wouldn’t be transferred over from my ITIN. My current auto loan won’t even transfer it over either. Should I just get new credit lines and start over ?

I had a charge off on my credit report and keep getting calls from a debt collector. Here is the title for the charge off
“Account charged off. $5,600 written off. $5,600 past due, last payment date 11/2022”
I am in the position to pay this debt - not in full, but in monthly installments. This company does offer pay for delete.
Question: what are my steps? Should I ask for proof of debt? Should I tell them “I will pay the debt back, only for a pay for delete. Otherwise I will ride out the debt”?
Obviously I will pay the debt, just want it off my report

Right to the point. I have 2 Capital One secured cards. One card has a $200 limit, and is only used for a $20 a month charge which I pay off the day after it settles. I’ve had this one for 15 months. The other card is a $250 limit with cashback, which I use for food/gas daily. Anytime the balance settles I pay it immediately. I’ve had this car for roughly 6 months. My score has risen I suppose, but I feel like I can/should be doing more and I’m unsure as to how. I’m under the impression to not let any balance carry to the next month, but how do they report my utilization? My score is a 580 an ..read more

I have approx $5,000 split into 4 different credit cards. I took out a 5th to consolidate the total. Should I completely pay off the 4 cards or leave something in each card. My score is currently a 732.

Someone please change my mind. In my experience credit repair companies do nothing you can’t do yourself. And often take credit for the things that you do.

I'm in a situation.
Years ago I borrowed a lot of money and have been paying it back steadily (this is £28k, down from £54k over four years). I'm paying those back on a debt management plan, was starting to get my life together, but then... divorce.
Now I'm struggling to meet my rent as I live alone. I have a daughter and am still pulling in a lot of money per month, but it's not enough. I also have a surgery (non-cosmetic) that's going to set me back upwards of £8k, and I'd like some cash to help me through this traumatic time. I'm trying to get a cheap car with isofix so my ex doesn't try t ..read more
