Sheet Music... for metal?

Like the title implies, I'm a lover of power metal, from oldies but goodies like Ronnie Dio, Manowar or Metallica, to the ridiculous of modern-day like Gloryhammer, Grailknights, and Van Canto. Also, of course who doesn't love Dethklok? As I said in another post, I'm getting back into piping after a long absence. As an adult I'm finding myself less interested in playing with a band, and more interested in playing stuff I love. I've been searching around, but only really find traditional stuff (which I play, and love also). So to make a long question short: Does anyone know where I might find ..read more

Different sounding identical reeds

Hello all, When I first got my PC it came with a Frazer Warnock PC reed and I ordered extra reeds to be on the safe side. I've been using the same reed for the past year and recently I tried one of the unused ones. I noticed that the used one sounded better and was much easier to play compared to the new one. I also noticed that the used one's hemp slid up a bit. I was wondering if the change in sound and ease of blowing was due to the difference in hemp (and removing some from the new reed would make it more like the used one) or if it's a matter of use and the old reed simply became "softer ..read more

I’ve got a G1 Platinum chanter (plastic) and am thinking of upgrading to a blackwood G1 Gold. Does anyone play the Gold, if so how do you find it? Whats the finger spacing like? I haven’t been able to find much about the chanter online so interested to hear some opinions on it from those that play it. Cheers submitted by /u/joelgoodsen91 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What are people’s thoughts on older pipes (glen, henderson 1900s, Lawries, etc) compared to today’s (mccallum, modern rg hardie, etc).
