Hey everyone! My name is zak, and I am a personal trainer who has a lot of experience working with people with concussion/ post concussion syndrome. I, myself have suffered with this for years. Only when I put myself on a strict exercise, diet, and daily habit regimen I started to feel better. Since then, I’ve graduated college, completed a graduate degree in exercise science with a focus in rehabilitation, and taken on jobs working with patients! I have decided to take this venture on solo, so if you have any questions about anything, let me know! I have a website in the works, and I just st ..read more

My wife had a horrible brain injury back in 2019 but has recovered almost fully from it except some short term memory loss and the inability to taste and smell. Lately she gets angry and irritable at everything at any moment. How can I help her with the anger issues? She also resents me on occasion for saving her life which hurts.

My husband is in the hospital for something not related to his Tbi. However his stay there has been very beneficial for his Tbi. His cognitive ability has greatly increased as has his desire to talk a lot more and much more effectively. He hasn’t been in any meds since he’s been there. His meds are vitamins and heart medication. So I don’t attribute this progress to taking or not taking meds. So I’m thinking that only leaves hydration. He had a lot of fluid running through him to hydrate him. I’d really like to hear some thoughts on this from his Tbi brothers and sisters out there. I’m just s ..read more

My husband is a very good man and good to me. When he is tired or stressed, he immediately becomes a person that I do not recognize. I can see it physically, his energy, eyes, body language, sighing. He is easily triggered. He will become angry and there is absolutely no reasoning with him. It’s like he is stuck in a loop. I will even tell him he is not being himself and he will argue. And when he comes out of it - He is so apologetic and ashamed. But it almost feels like he does not totally remember all that happened?
I am not making excuses for it. I truly don’t think it’s his personality o ..read more

So to start yeah I have a TBI, this makes it incredibly difficult to handle a lot of stimuli and I get tired and irritated quickly when I am over stimulated. On the flip side I am diagnosed ADHD and have been since I was a child, I’m totally unmedicated now and just use cannabis to get some comfort in my new reality, back on topic though, I require high amounts of stimulation and a lot of dopamine rewards threw learning or constant achievements. I’m a dopamine fiend.. I am so bored with life, and I feel it is because I’m intellectually under-stimulated due to my issue with quickly becoming ov ..read more

I posted this in Concussion group but it might be better off here…I’m desperate for relief.
I was in my accident in September and have improved so much (I was hit by a car jogging). I’m working 40 hours as of a few weeks ago and am on the cuff of getting a promotion that entails more hours. Friday I talked to the Neuro about taking on more hours but I have had head pain so terrible since Saturday night/Sunday and am just overall feeling so ill and sometimes feel like I might pass out.
I am on meds, started steroids today but just not improving. I have done PT, speech therapy, worked my way up ..read more

I saw they had a study supporting improved cognitive function for people with a history of mTBI: https://academic.oup.com/brain/article/144/7/1994/6328669?login=false
From what I read it seems legit, but I don't have a science background. Any thoughts?
