The first seamstress I spoke to only wanted my dress a month out from my wedding date...this seems wayyyyyyy too close for comfort. I've spoken to someone else who I'll meet this week. For reference, my wedding is on Dec 7th this year. What are normal alterations timelines like? How soon is too soon/too late? I don't expect to change a heap before my wedding, maybe 1-2kg of weight loss from stress and excitement leading into the wedding ?. But given my dress is strapless I want it to fit perfectly. For some of the topics posted with the dress regret flair, I've had to look over the comments more thoroughly because people seem to like to project their personal traumas on OP on those posts. Hey all, have some styling/alterations questions ! My dress is at alterations and had the cap sleeves briefly removed to adjust the bodice (which is big on me). The sleeveless look, which I wasn’t really thinking about…actually looks better than I thought it would. So now I’m wondering if I should keep the cap sleeves or ask to keep them off. I got this dress from Jenny Yoo and love it — I felt so happy and excited in it and can just really envision myself at the wedding dancing and laughing etc etc. here’s a pic of the one I tried on (I ordered up a size so this is not how tight it will be on me, included the model photo w more realistic fit). So this was my first time dress shopping and I ended up trying this dress and I felt so beautiful in it! It’s a little out of my budget (only slightly) and not what I originally envisioned.
