Looking at getting either a companion ( carbon) or a companion HD (heavy duty) (carbon steel), the standard companion has a 2mm spine and the companion HD has a 3.2mm spine, can I split wood/baton (not too large of wood, no thicker than the knives blade length) relatively often with the standard companion without worry of breaking, will also use back of knife to strike Gerri rod, HD is more expensive and I don’t want to spend too much money at the moment

Looking into putting ballistol on my silky saw to preserve the coating while using it, would this damage the black nickel/tin coating on the outback series

Looking for a relatively lightweight, possibly water resistant/repellant (don’t need water “proof” but perfectly fine if it is) that is durable and will work for 3 seasons, primarily spring and summer clothing though as I oddly don’t get very cold. Preferably relatively lightweight

Looking for a rust prevention/blade protective oil or wax/paste that goes on evenly, will protect a coating/ at least not damage it (such as phosphate coating, oxide coating, nickel/tin coating etc) will last a decent amount of time, will prevent corrosion or rust after hard and regular/ frequent use and will all around work well for an axe, saw and knife, some of which have light coatings (not like cerakote or powder coat but like a nickel/tin coating on the silky Outback saws or a black oxide or phosphate coating on a knife)

The curvy on has at least three striking surfaces. It is super versatile, and the handle area is oblong, making it great for doing long splits in hard wood. I quartered an elm of about 6 inches diameter with it and a hatchet to make long stakes/fence posts.
The big one is just a two hand heavy beast for pounding big stuff into the ground.
