Here is another easy Filipino dish using the instant pot! Beef Nilaga is one of my favourite Filipino comfort foods and the instant pot makes it really quick and easy to make.
This recipe is full of flavour due to the use of beef bones which makes a delicious beef bone broth as the base of this dish. It's finished off by adding a variety of veggies that you prefer (or have on hand, during these times). The instant pot really does all the heavy lifting for this recipe and you can have a delicious beef bone broth on your dinner table in under an hour.
This is definitely a staple dish in Filipino ..read more

Thinking of taking a trip to Bangkok to see all the wonderful sights the city has to offer? The Wat Arun and Wat Pho temples are probably on your must-see list!
Having just travelled to Thailand and seeing these amazing sights in person, I thought I would share some travel tips to help you get there too! Bangkok is known for crazy traffic, so skip the taxis and take public transportation to the temples. You will need to use the BTS and then connect to the river ferry - but it is an EASY and FUN experience (I’ve included photos below to help you navigate!).

This winter weather in Toronto has me turning to my favourite go-to comfort food recipes. This go around I’m sharing a classic Filipino dish that I grew up on - Chicken Tinola! This can definitely be cooked on the stove top but I tested it out in the instant pot and it worked out great! Because who doesn’t love trying new recipes in their instant pot?!
So, what the heck is Tinola? Tinola is basically the Filipino equivalent to chicken noodle soup! It has that delicious chicken broth with lots of veggies (which I’ll get into later!) and scrumptious pieces of chicken. Many people add noodles whe ..read more

Brrrrrrr, winter is in full swing here in Toronto! We just got a record-breaking amount of snow the last 24-hours and all I want to do is stay in my Pj's and have a cozy day inside - complete with comfort food! This spicy beef barley stew is perfect for days like this and I'm sure you will love it.
I used my slow cooker for this recipe which makes it that much easier! Just add in the ingredients and let the crock pot do it's thing :) Although I did sear the beef before adding it to the crock pot, just for some added flavour. If you are in a rush, you can skip this step no problem.

Everyone needs a basic go-to chicken dish that's fast, easy and ready in no-time! I'm sharing a recipe that I used recently when prepping some chicken for a chicken pita wrap. But this recipe can compliment so many other meals like salads, pasta or roasted veggies. It's also great if you like to meal prep because it can go with just about anything as an easy protein.
The seasonings I used are pretty much standard, staple pantry items. You can definitely add or remove other flavours and seasonings (oregano, basil, cumin, etc.) or omit some of the ones I used (e.g. the cayenne if you're not into ..read more

I was trying to find a pasta dish to bring to a family Christmas dinner, so of course I turned to my go-to Pasta Queen: Lidia Bastianich. I saw a youtube video of her making these Jumbo Stuffed Shells but couldn't find the recipe on her site. So I thought I'd share the recipe here with you all because this dish was a hit! The kids and adults loved these stuffed shells and the delicious marinara sauce. My one tip would be to make lots of sauce so that you can top off each serving with a generous spooning of the yummy marinara. Check out the recipe below!

Hi everyone! My Instant Pot adventures continue and this time I'm sharing the recipe, photos and a VIDEO (!!!) for one of my favourite Filipino dishes: Pork Ribs Sinigang.
Sinigang is a tamarind base soup, it has a sour flavour to the broth and it's really a unique and delicious flavour. It can be made with other proteins such as shrimp or beef but this is a version using pork side ribs. Sinigang is not complete without a ton of veggies, I've used cabbage, daikon radish and yellow hot peppers because I like mine with a bit of a spicy kick! You can also use string beans, bok choy, okra or potat ..read more
