Dr. Nicholas Miller tells the story of Adventism’s navigation through major interpretational shifts in the midst of 19th century America. After explaining the meaning of true “fundamentalism”, Dr. Miller points out the reason Adventists are not fundamentalists at their roots and why knowing is important. Also, he lets the listener know the potential pitfalls of a fundamentalist usage of the “plain reading of Scripture”.

This is Stuff Adventists Should Know. Starting in January, 2018, I’ll be launching a podcast that explores compartments of the Seventh-day Adventist church. I’ll be talking to scholars, administrators, and leaders in our church to find out how the church works and why knowing matters.
At a time when understanding is needed most in our church and it feels like church isn’t working like it should, we’re essentially just going to pull over the vehicle of Adventism and pop the hood and get professional opinions on the current state of the machine.
