“Who funded this research?” A legitimate question, to be sure, but it’s being used in a way that’s starting to really annoy me. When I post something about dairy (or animal products in general), processed food, or pesticides, or anything that can be deemed as ‘unnatural’ or ‘unhealthy’, this question gets asked. “We don’t need carbs, so why are you advocating for eating them?” Good question. I think asking whether we ‘need’ carbs or not is the wrong question. As a nutritionist, I’m obviously aware of the human requirements for energy as well as the need for essential vitamins and minerals.
