THOUGHTS I’ve had a lot of thoughts scour through my head over the past few weeks and I just haven’t been able to perfectly articulate them, particularly the ones surrounding all that’s happening in the world right now. From Covid-19 as a backdrop, to the uncanny death of George Floyd and the death of Tina who was raped and beaten in Benin, Nigeria, I have not been able to find words appropriate enough to sum up my emotions.           LIVE AND LEARN              INTRO TO BEING BLACK IN AMERICA ..read more

A DIFFERENT LOOK AT PARIS Once upon a time, I romanticized and dreamed of walking down the aisles of Paris hand in hand with a lover… I WAS 19 THEN, ALMOST 8yrs LATER I’M YET TO ACTUALIZE THESE DREAMS.   I discovered something much more fulfilling.   The idea that it takes two to unlock the exploration of romance is a skewed concept I once adhered to. over the years through series of heart breaks and multiple failures in relationships i discovered that True romance begins with self. My emotional independence was brought to the fore in 2018 when I paid attention to certai ..read more

LOOKING BACK ON MY FIRST TRIP TO ROME YEARS AGO… If you told me then that I would be where I am today my response would have been, “HOW SWAY? GIVE ME THE ANSWERS”.    The dots didn’t connect then.   I’m learning that we don’t always have to see the picture in great detail to trust that life will pan out better than we imagine. That’s the beauty of faith. Be grateful for where you are presently and savor these moments because they don’t last forever.       Me: can I have some red pepper flakes with that and cheese ..read more

“This country is as reviving as it is draining. It gives energy and it takes energy. But it is an exchange which has to be managed.” -PX  “If the world is the body, India is it’s soul” I romanticized the idea of coming to India for six years. If you’ve seen Eat Pray Love or read the India part of Elisabeth Gilbert’s EPL I’m sure you understand my sentiments. I daydreamed about spending time in an ashram and coming back to the States as “Yogi Gold”. I also hoped I would meet a Richard from Texas who would tell me about myself but instead I met a Paul from London, and an Akshay from Ud ..read more

SOME OF THESE INFLUENCERS… live out of a box… that was me in my 24”x18” brown Lowe’s box that sat next to the bathroom in Apt c411. Some of these influencers live in their cars... that was me before I relocated for a short lived stay in NYC. Some of these influencers barely have any money in their bank accounts… that was me when I had -$31 in my bank account before shooting one of my favorite @shopa.au campaigns. That was also me when I survived on eggs and hot sauce for the day. Need I say, I learned how to survive on $20 a month. Some of these influencers can’t even afford food to eat... th ..read more

Our first visit to the remote island, Bermuda, was memorable. It’s one we will always hold dear to our hearts because of the warmth that spilled out of the radiance of each individual’s smile. We were picked up by Gregory, a young man who made our thirty-minute ride to Hamilton so swift that we didn’t even realize we had been on the road for that length of time. I gazed out of the window and marveled at the crystal clear blue waters of Bermuda, while listening to the sound of Gregory’s voice in the background. He talked about his goals and ambitions and mentioned that he had been to a couple ..read more

IN COLLABORATION WITH AIRBNB I can say that I am fortunate enough to call Atlanta my home. It is the city I have lived since I came to America, and where I started to live out my – as they say, “American Dream”. Believing that I have well and truly explored the wonders of Atlanta, the notion of a staycation in my own home city, did not leave me entirely thrilled nor excited. What perspective of Atlanta can Airbnb offer me that I have yet to tick off during my 13 years of being its resident? .       My question was answered exceedingl ..read more

IN COLLABORATION WITH AIRBNB    So far my journey on the open road has been within the confinement of my rented car, driving between southern cities. What came as a refreshing change was the sailing experience with @AirBnB at the scenic Charleston Harbor.     There truly is nothing more exhilarating than being out in the open waters. And though technically the yatch was manned by Captain Jay @mentalheeling our host, it made me feel an overwhelming feeling of freedom and a reminder to self that: Yes, I am the captain of my own (life)ship.    ..read more

IN COLLABORATION WITH AIRBNB After a long journey from New Orleans we finally made it in to Nashville at 11pm. What I craved after so many hours on the road was a comfortable cozy bed to have a good night’s  rest in preparation for the next day. I woke up the next morning eager to take on my days tasks.     SPACE The space I was surrounded in truly came alive in the morning. As a creative I tend to stay away from spaces that do not get an ample amount of light. Everything about @acozycasa made me feel comfortable and at peace. I compared the last home ..read more

A collaboration with airbnb  THE GREAT AMERICAN ROADTRIP        HOME We stopped along the roadside searching for house no. 820. To our left was a massive white building with gray doors and a cross slapped right in the middle. Thinking, this couldn’t be it, could it? This is a church the Uber driver uttered. To our surprise the building we had been looking for was the church. Yep, this certainly was it.      We were welcomed bY our host Sara, who was kind enough to give us her time. She shared with us that the property w ..read more
