How to see my MRI images on LiveWell / Epic MyChart?

Hi all, I had a brain MRI and already received the results, but haven't found the images that the MRI tech said would be uploaded to my LiveWell / MyChart. The person said that if I scroll down on the results page, that I would be able to see the images. Does anyone know where to find them, or who I should contact if I don't see them (my doctors vs. webmaster, etc.)? I'm quite impatient to see my images because I work in fMRI research and diagnostics, but have never had a chance to see my own brain! submitted by /u/EvenPeanut [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Are you essentially stuck with them if you are a rural/small hospital? Is there any way off their platform to another company? Has anyone heard about them pushing into RCM and outsourcing people to India? Thanks! submitted by /u/predsfan77 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Which would you choose if offered both: Epic Analyst or Epic Trainer?

EDITED ONE HOUR LATER: Analyst, heard, loud and clear! XD But if anyone would like to elaborate on why, for my education, please do! (original below) I'm a clinician working to get into health IT, and I'm lucky enough to be in interview processes for both an Epic analyst job and an Epic trainer job (at different health systems). In the extremely lucky event that I get offered both, I want to make an informed decision. I've been working through Epic proficiencies and enjoying them. I also enjoy teaching people and I'm good at it (teaching is a big part of my clinical job). I think I'd enjoy bo ..read more

Availity API issue with eligibility details

Wondering if anyone has run into, and resolved, an issue with Availity’s API. We’re finding that MH benefits are returning in queries without any amounts/values so items like copays and deductibles. We know where this information is located from a provider’s portal, but are unsure why we’re getting the results we’re getting through the API. Sorry not an engineer, so please excuse any errors in terminology, or if I asking this in the wrong way. submitted by /u/ReinventingSelf21 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Transitioning from IT for Business to Health IT/Analysis?

So glad that I came across this sub! I've learned a ton just perusing, but I was hoping someone could provide some thoughts on going from standard business IT (Network Administration/Senior IT Engineer) to Health IT or Clinical Systems Analysis for Epic Modules. I've been forwarded some recent openings, but there's a nagging feeling I'm out of my element in the Healthcare industry in general. I understand many of these positions are available for internal transition so others will have a leg up. My question is if my lack of experience in the healthcare industry, but 18 years in IT, is a non-s ..read more

How do my fellow health IT professionals see the FTC banning non-competes changing the Epic landscape? I am sure it will be tied up in court for a while still but it does feel like a change is on its way. submitted by /u/eatingstringcheese [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What do you offer to your Community Connect customers?

Hi all, work for a healthcare org where we have a very small Community Connect presence. The few practices we have under our Community Connect infrastructure were in place before I joined the desktop engineering team, but when they were first brought on, they were promised more than we feel today should have been originally offered. Today, they connect to our Epic instance via Horizon RDSH apps. We have a separate domain forest (two-way trusted) specifically for Community Connect where the RDS hosts and users reside. The Horizon brokering infrastructure itself resides on our main domain. When ..read more

Going from health to health IT: any advice?

Hi all, I'm 24 with 3 years of clinical laboratory experience and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology. In short, I hate the bench and would like to work on data/technology/systems/information/electronic records etc, ideally in healthcare or biological sciences. I have some experience in Power BI/Tableau/SQL from my time at the lab as well. I think I can make the shift but I don't even know where to start What kind of positions am I a good candidate for? Any certifications I should be seeking? Is a Master's degree worth pursuing? Note: I do not work in a hospital so AFAIK I have no way of seek ..read more

Epic - Contracts or FTE at a Healthcare system?

So for Epic analysts, what is the best route here? I get contacted for jobs that pay higher than I get now however they are all contracted jobs from consulting tech firms. I currently have an FTE position with a system already but I’m not the happiest here. It’s weird to be seeing so much more money in these contracts compared to my FTE position but for me I need to be remote or as close to 100% remote as possible. I currently go in to an office around 5 days a month and that’s even too much honestly. So what’s the best way to highway paid remote job with the best benefits? Contracts or FTE ..read more
