Can someone explain to me why RV is not a HIPPA compliance workspace? I just got this new virtual medical scribing job, and was told that RV is not a HIPPA compliance workspace. I really don’t understand. I will be the only person in that space, all doors, windows, and curtains will be locked while working. And I don’t get it why this is not allowed. Can someone explain to me please ? Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/lala_heart [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello! I am currently a unit secretary in an ER pursuing my associates in IT. I would like to learn to program or customize EMR/EHR software (my hospital uses Meditech). I believe that some of the systems can be better set up for clinical users. The way that ours is set up makes more sense from an IT standpoint but isn't a simple workflow for the healthcare professionals I work with. I am interested in getting my bachelor's but do not really know what the best thing to major in would be for this goal. I understand that HIM may be more for end users but I don't know if software development wou ..read more

Configure SSO for Citrix Thin client to Epic

Our current setup is to have all of our users sign into thin clients with VMware pointing to Windows virtual desktops. They can do this with Imprivata SSO and using a badge tap. After badging into their computer, they can launch Epic using the Imprivata Connector application which has their Epic credentials (different than Windows credentials) saved so they can launch Epic without entering in user credentials either. We have been using this setup on every endpoint in our org for over a year now. Recently, I had some providers tell me they want to have their exam rooms setup as Citrix thin cli ..read more

I have an MPH in epidemiology. I pull data using EPIC Clarity via sql on SSMS at a research hospital. I also can use SAS. I have certification with EPIC on their Clarity and Cogito data modules, and something else but I forgot. I was trained to have some grad level statistics via the epidemiology degree. I get requests for "research studies" from every departments. I pull tables for cohorts and their data for the research studies. Those tables involve every aspects of the Clarity database, inc. billing, Rx, procedures, labs and tests ordered, the results of the labs/tests, Dx, Dx history, in ..read more

I'm integrating ICD10 codes for a diagnostic API, but I noticed that the WHO has certain provisions on licensing those codes for commercial purposes in computer systems -> see the PDF here Questions: Does anybody know what the pricing is like? Is there some kind of long winding, costly certification necessary? The contact links in the PDF are dead as it seems, anyone have a working license request form url? submitted by /u/EddyYosso [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
