Definitely the largest lens cap I have ever seen so far & this honour goes to NiSi for providing this very useful lens cap with their S6 Filter Holder Kit. It helps protect the NiSi Circular Polariser that also comes with the S6 Folder Holder Kit and if the CPL is not mounted it helps protect my Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G so all in a very useful addition to the kit especially when I like to use this setup hand-held. Check out this short clip introducing the S6 Lens Cap: NiSi S6 Lens Cap Intro https://vimeo.com/496716357 Hope you enjoyed this clip. Till the next one , cheers, Andrew ..read more

Part 02 of my experience with the new NiSi S6 filter holder system & NiSi 150mm filters. This time I spent some time at the Flower Dome , Gardens By the Bay to create this short clip demonstrating how I used NiSi's ND (Neutral Density) filters to basically remove people from a scene. I used two NiSi ND filters (10 stops & a 6 stops) in this demo because I also wanted to show how easy it was with the S6 Filter Holder system. So here's the Part 02 Video Clip: NiSi S6 Out in the Field - Part 02 https://vimeo.com/496714237 For convenience , here's the Part 01 Out in the Field Clip NiSi S6 ..read more

Sharing my experience is using the new NiSi S6 Filter Holder system out in the field. This clip shows a little insight on how I use filters & the results mainly from using a NiSi 3 stops Graduated Neutral Density (GND) with the NiSi Circular Polarizer filter in place. Hope you enjoy this clip NiSi S6 Filter Holder System - Out in the Field Part 01 (Marina Bay) https://vimeo.com/496713929 More clips to come , so look out for them. Cheers, Andrew ..read more

Happy 2021 Folks ! Let's start this new year by sharing some great quality photography related hardware with a 2 part introduction to NiSi's new S6 Filter Holder system which is available for use with ultra-wide zooms from all major lens manufacturers that do not have a screw in filter thread. I had used the S6 with my Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 lens for a couple of weeks & was really impressed with the overall enhancements & improvements to the previous version. As the S6 is a very comprehensive system with new enhancements , the introduction is divided into 2 parts for easier assimilation ..read more

NiSi S6 Filter Holder - What's to LIKE ?

Special thanks to NiSi & NiSi Singapore for providing the brand new NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Kit for me to try with my Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ultra-wide zoom lens ! I had used the NiSi S5 150mm filter holder before so it was possible to make a comparison on what I liked or disliked with the new NiSi S6. NiSi makes 150mm filter holders that are dedicated to the ultra-wide zoom lenses without filter threads for the different lens manufacturers. This dedication ensures a filter holder that matches perfectly with the ultra-wide zoom lens that you may be using. The NiSi S6 Filter holder is ..read more

I hope everyone is staying healthy & coping well with the unfortunate current pandemic situation. . As for me I am still keeping busy with my photography activities & projects. . In photography there are always scenes where the use of filters are essential when attempting to capture them. The scenes I am referring would most likely involve water flowing , creating motion blur , moving clouds especially when captured on a day with great light. . I had been using the NiSi S5 Filter Holder system & NiSi’s 150mm filters for a while now with my Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 lens when creating &a ..read more

NiSi Close Up Lens - A Day in the Forest

INTRO NiSi has been coming out with some great products & I was curious to see what the new NiSi Close up lens (77mm) could do. Would it be good enough to replace a top notch macro lens ? The honest and quick answer would be no but from my first experience with this close up lens , it would definitely be great for : 1. bring the world of macro to photographers who wants an introduction to this genre. 2. be a useful close up tool that a photographer can just screw on to a regular zoom tele lens 3, great for photogs that need that occasional macro / close-up capability Still I was intereste ..read more

I am a huge fan of NiSi filters & of course their Filter holder systems. I had been using the NiSi S5 Pro Filter Holder system with their High Resolution Optical Glass filters with my Nikkor F-mount 14-24mm f/2.8G ultra wide angle zoom & had been loving it since day 1. Towards the end of last year , I had been using Nikon's new mirrorless cameras & love their much more compact size & performance. For landscapes , one of my most used lens is the fabulous Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4S ultra wide angle zoom lens which is also the only ultra wide zoom lens where you can easily mount a scre ..read more

Nikon Z 6 - Capturing Sumo Action at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament 2019

Sumo is a Japanese style of wrestling & Japan's National Sport. Sumo is more than 1500 years old and the rules are simple : the wrestler who first exits the ring or touches the ground with any part of his body besides the soles of his feet loses. There are no weight restrictions & matches take place on an elevated ring aka dohyo. Overall view of Sumo Arena Image captured with iPhone Xr I have been a huge fan of Sumo for more than 20 years now but never had the chance to witness it live until now. I attended the 2nd & 3rd day of the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament held in Tokyo' Ryogo ..read more
