The WOM Collective has taken over the Penge Outdoor Gallery for International Women’s Day. Home Sweet Home is an ongoing public art campaign by Olly Walker. Featuring a hermit crab with a coke can instead of a shell. Appearing at locations across East London, the image is one that represents gentrification and displacement. The Seven Saints of St Pauls are a series of murals dedicated to prominent black community members in the St Pauls area of Bristol. From local artist Michelle Cutis and local muralists Paintsmiths, the murals can be found at various locations across the area. Supported by the National Lottery. It was a project which co-incided with the 50 year anniversary of the St Pauls Carnival. The event takes place every summer and is a celebration of African and Caribbean heritage. The Parees Festival has to Oviedo for 2022 and added four more large scale murals to the town. Taking place for the 6th time, the compact Spanish festival has become a popular fixture in the countries street art scene. Creating murals for this years event were Taxis from Greece; Samir Toumi from Morocco; Mariana Duarte Santos from Portugal and local Asturian artist Nieve Sita. Voting for the best street art of 2022 has now begun over at the global street art app ‘Street Art Cities‘. In total nine entries are from murals based in the United Kingdom. Cities including Belfast, Bristol, London and Aberdeen are joined by entrants from Margate and Greenock. The UK entries are just a small part of the worldwide list which includes 100 murals across 92 cities covering 30 countries.
