Planned by Senior Planner, Jamie-Lee Clooten “Sydney and Daniel’s modern farm-to-table wedding in the heart of Vancouver was a joy to plan and bring to life — and I’m so excited to tell you all about their concept, the design, and some of the very intentional decisions they made as we put everything together.  When I first met Sydney and Daniel, they had recently got engaged. They had a unique story in that they had known each other through mutual friends for years, but they only started dating a few weeks before the pandemic started. As they hunkered down together during lockdown, their ..read more

To know Mandy and Andrew is to know two people who are equal parts kind, generous, and thoughtful. From the very first moment I met them, I knew they would be a dream to work with, and I was so excited at the thought of planning their intimate Painted Rock wedding with them. I had my first meeting with Mandy and Andrew in March 2020, and all three of us were certain that the pandemic would only last a few weeks and wouldn’t affect their plans for a summer 2021 wedding in the Okanagan. Little did we know that we’d be riding a rollercoaster of restrictions and pivots. Mandy and Andrew were so p ..read more

Nina and Nick’s wedding day was filled with statement pieces and was the perfect blend of traditional and modern elements. It was held at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver and was planned and designed by of senior planner, Jamie-Lee Clooten. What follows is her account of the event.  When I first met Nina and Nick over a video call, I was immediately struck by how much we had in common. They love dogs (and have three of their own), love to be outdoors, and have a passion for people — all things that are near and dear to my heart. Plus, as a nurse and social worker, they ..read more

Planning Eiza and Lucas’s black & white wedding was a joy from start to finish. From the get go, they were model planning partners. We were on the same page when it came to getting things done, and that meant they were really comfortable adhering to my deadlines and making decisions quickly and efficiently. This not only made the planning process easy and enjoyable, but being a head in the planning process allows for more time closer to the wedding to just enjoy the anticipation! One of the concerns that did loom over our planning process was whether guests would be able to dance or not, g ..read more

EMILY AND BEN’S LATE WINTER WEDDING

There is nothing more special then when one of our own gets married. When Emily got engaged and started planning her own wedding, I asked her if she would let me be her day-of coordinator. It was something I really wanted to do for her and I’m so glad she said yes!  Emily planned the entirety of the wedding herself, down to the very last detail. My role on the day was to make sure her vision came to life in the way she wanted it to, and that she could focus entirely on Ben and their day together.  Like many of the weddings during the pandemic, Emily and Ben had to delay their weddi ..read more

Pam and Yves’s wedding was an ode to love. With a touching tea ceremony, original vows, and friends and family that were eager to celebrate the couple, all the elements came together to create a beautiful, memorable day. But it wasn’t a smooth road to get there! In what can only be described as a wedding planner’s nightmare (that is before I had experienced a pandemic!), I received a call from my couple’s wedding venue letting me know that they had been served a strike notice. This was 48 hours before the wedding. Before I reached out to Pam and Yves to let them know what was happening, I want ..read more
