It now sounds like he will be headed to USC Upstate where he will join new head coach Marty Richter’s staff. Martin, who went 166-134 (.553) during his tenure at Coe, has previously worked on the staffs at North Dakota, South Dakota, Indian Hills CC, and Simpson College. I mentioned Austin Peters as a finalist at NAIA Taylor University back on 4/22 in the DAILY DIRT. His hiring has now been made official. Here’s the release from TU announcing the move: Taylor University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Kyle Gould, announced on Wednesday that Austin Peters had been hired as the new head coach for the TU men’s basketball program. Augustana men’s basketball head coach Cody Schilling has announced the hiring of Colton Kooima and Cade Stackpool as the team’s assistant coaches.    Kooima comes to Augustana from his alma mater of Northwestern College (IA) where he helped lead the Red Raiders to a 66-29 record with three NAIA National Tournament appearances in his three seasons. West Virginia University men’s basketball coach Darian DeVries has named Trent Michaels, a two-time WVU graduate, as director of men’s basketball operations for the Mountaineers.   It will be Michaels’ second consecutive season in the role, and his third season on the Mountaineer men’s basketball staff. Desmond Balentine has been named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Tiffin University. Balentine recently completed his second season with the Tiffin program in 2023-24 as the Associate Head Coach. Balentine started his coaching career at his alma mater Incarnate Word as a Graduate Assistant. Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing) I have now heard from multiple sources that D2 Northwood University (MI) intends to hire D2 Tiffin University head coach Tom Church to take over their men’s basketball program. Church officially resigned from Tiffin earlier today. Church has spent the past six seasons at Tiffin, and has also served as the head coach at IU Kokomo and St. Joseph’s (IN). This past season, he led the Dragons to an 18-12 (11-9 GMAC) record. Church would replace Lonnie Griffin, who resigned back in early April after four seasons on the job.
