I met Meg when she was pregnant with her first baby and was hired to photograph their birth. Meg and I hit it off right away and I was so excited when she told me she was pregnant with baby #2! She is so beautiful and her family is so warm and welcoming. I wish we lived closer together, being around her is so easy and fun. I love the birth images of her son showing me his baby belly. Ever thinking of how you became friends with someone and you just can’t pinpoint an exact moment? That is me with one of my best friends, Angela. I know she bought some eggs from my kids and came over to pick them up, I know we talked in passing at horse riding lessons, but I am just not sure when we both let our guard down and were able to be completely ourselves. I am reading the book Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants Paperback, by Robin Wall Kimmerer. The very first chapter uses the metaphor of pecan trees and the idea of having mast years.  For those that are unfamiliar with the term, a mast year is when a tree produces much more fruit than what it normally averages.
