My journey into teaching yoga began after I moved to Houston, Texas. I moved to the area for a job as a recreational therapist at a psychiatric hospital and the position required me to obtain my yoga certification. I’ve always been open to continuing education, and to me, going through YTT was an opportunity to learn more about health and wellness. It’s time to rethink the idea that in order to be a successful yoga teacher one needs to teach in a studio. While studios are huge in the yoga world, it’s easy to get stuck in the mindset that if you aren’t teaching in a studio then you aren’t a viable yoga teacher - but that’s simply not true.
