Sturdy Tripod Recommendation for Home Studio

Hey everyone, I’m looking to replace my cheap plastic tripod with something sturdier. I shoot portraits at home with a Canon R6m2, and my lenses are the 24-105mm f4, 85mm f2, and 50mm f1.8. I also use a SMALLRIG Rotatable Collar Mount and shoot tethered to an iPad. I also use strobes and light modifiers. Can anyone recommend a good tripod that’s solid and can handle this setup (and heavier lenses in future)? I need something that won’t wobble and can adjust easily. Thanks for any tips! submitted by /u/ObviousRaspberry88 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Corrupted images, taken on Canon 5D1+50F1.8+Sandisk Ultra MicroSD (TF to CF adapter) (first 4 pics). And some with wrong metering or perhaps slower mirror speed than shutter speed? (last pic @F7.1 1/3200s ISO250, extremely bright day). Does anyone know what kinda error/corruption this is?

hi All, I have a question regarding printer ink, I am running out of ink soon. Ink cartridges are very expensive. I have a MG3620 printer. How does one buy ink here? Through officedepot and staples? Any cheaper alternative? Amazon and others are expensive. submitted by /u/highvoltageeee2k3 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What are some other good substitutes for similar prices to the T7?

I am an aviation photographer, looking to buy my first camera. I was looking at the T7 and so far I’m stuck with it, but I was wondering if there’s any cameras with the same price that have slightly better features for my usage as I’m not going to take pictures of much of anything besides cars and aircraft. Let me know any recommendations and I will look into them. If I don’t find anything else I’ll just buy it and upgrade later. submitted by /u/Gamble2005 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Concert/studio videographer: Currently own an R6, does it make sense to get an R7 for a second body?

I’m looking to add a second body to my arsenal so that I can offer multicam recordings to artists for concerts and studio sessions, and I found an R7 on the fb for pretty cheap. I’m not experienced enough to know if I’m going to run into issues in post with the matching the video from a crop sensor camera like the R7 to the R6. The R7 would primarily sit on tripod at front of house or somewhere on stage while I shoot with the R6 on a gimbal. Any insight is appreciated! submitted by /u/abeeeeeach [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Got the R10 body only - EF lens suggestions?

Hi all, I recently got a really good deal on a R10 but it is body only so am looking to get a few lenses. I have read for hours and hours and honestly feel like I’m going around in circles! In terms of what I am looking to use the camera for, I take quite a lot of landscape photos (we live near the Rockies so lots of mountain shots), plus next year we are travelling through Asia, so will be taking lots of photos of temples, busy streets, beaches, etc - so pretty varied. In the past I had a canon 30d and I had a fixed length macro lens and the picture quality was amazing. I never got close wit ..read more

Zoom lens options

I’m new to photography and I purchased a secondhand Canon 200DMkII (250D) that came with EFS 18-55 & 55-250mm lenses. Most of my photography is sports and birds/wildlife so the 250mm lens often isn’t quite long enough. I can buy either a second hand sigma 100-400mm for around $AUD800. Or a second hand EF 70-300mm plus a sigma 2x Tele converter for around $AUD430. At half the price, is the 300mm lens plus teleconverter a good idea or should I save up for the sigma lens? I’ve never used either before so I’m not sure if the teleconverter is a good idea or not. submitted by /u/kellybamboo [v ..read more

Best DSLR or Mirrorless to Switch from Nikon D750?

Hi all, I want to get into the Canon ecosystem for my portrait work. My long term goal is to get the Canon R5 for stills and a C70 for serious filmmaking but I think I should get a decent DSLR or Mirrorless Canon in the meantime just so I can start assembling EF / RF lenses and get used to shooting Canon. I currently have a Nikon D750, can anyone recommend a Canon DSLR or Mirrorless that is at least equivalent specs to that? Ideally under $2500 submitted by /u/jvstnmh [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The eternal dilemma between R10 and RP. and most important THEIR LENSES!

(hola, sorry if there are any mistakes since English is not my first language...) to be brief: I love the RP because it's a fullframe and I've always wanted a FF, although it's a bit old. on the other hand the R10 is more modern and 'efficient', and according to what I've read in the video it's much, much better. what i would use it for: MONEY, you see my priority is photography, i love landscape and nature so i would be better off with a RP but landscape photography is not going to generate me any profit and it would be more like a hobby, i need a camera that also allows me to take product p ..read more

Thinking of replacing my 16-35 iii with 14mm 2.8ii

The 16-35mm is excellent but I use it as a 16mm prime and its big and heavy. Does anyone use the 14mm 2.8? I could see an ultra ultrawide stuck on my camera as transformative but its structurally different and then theres the filter…. Thanks submitted by /u/sdalien [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
