I have made these videos to accompany my new design for a top that combines corner to corner with squares. It is currently being tested and will hopefully be published soon. The yarn used to make the rectangle is Katia’s Fair Cotton. The post How to crochet a corner to corner rectangle appeared first on Woolly Chic Designs ..read more

I was honoured to be asked by The Cambridge Yarn Festival to become one of their official Yarn Influencers! I met Jem and Camilla at their Seaside Knitting Retreat and was so inspired by their enthusiasm and many talents and so jumped at the chance to wear that badge with pride! It got me wondering though, what makes someone a Yarn Influencer and what does the term really mean? Simply, I suppose a Yarn Influencer is someone who shares their love of yarn with others! I certainly love to talk about yarn and all things wool related! And you all know how passionate I am about British Wool and env ..read more

It’s Woolly Chic’s 10th Anniversary this year! I started my business, Woolly Chic, 10 years ago! It all began when I became addicted to crochet but struggled to find British wool to use for my hobby! I was passionate then (as I am still today) about supporting British sheep farmers, as my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin farm Poll Dorset and Ryeland sheep in Pembrokeshire. The lightbulb moment came whilst on holiday in France to combine my love of crochet and British wool and create my own yarn from the fleece of sheep farmed by my family! Celebrating Woolly Chic’s 10th Anniversary It has been quite a j ..read more

It has been an exciting journey getting to this point; the launch of HeartSpun, a brand new British luxury eco yarn by Woolly Chic. Beginnings It all began a little over a year ago, with a conversation with my Mum about ethical yarns and non-itchy British wool. It set me off on a journey looking for the perfect yarn! For those of you that already know me, you will have heard how passionate I am about promoting British wool and I love to know where things have been made or grown.  I also believe that it is so important that the people producing the things we buy have been paid a fair wage ..read more
