When we moved to Shawnigan Lake we were so thrilled that our first gig after moving would be a Brentwood College wedding in Mill Bay! Although I did end up driving into Victoria for the bridal party prep at the Parkside but Aaron got arrive 10 minutes from our home which was so great. We were so looking forward to this wedding as we first met Ali & Misha at the Hatley Castle wedding of Ali’s brother Steven so it was great to be capturing another wedding for this family. We also had a really great time with them on a bit of an adventurous engagement session you can see here ..read more

We are so excited to share this Bird’s Eye Cove Farm wedding this past summer. This Cowichan Valley wedding and reception venue is one of our most favourite spots to photograph and is so perfect in the warmth of late summer. Ashlie and Demetre gathered all their friends and family for such a perfect day. The ceremony was up by the cow pasture and smoke from the summer fires softened the August sun. Demetre was all smiles for his first look of Ashlie as she traded her bouquet for a pair of Lucky Lagers for a hot afternoon to greet him. This was our first Greek wedding and it was so muc ..read more

So excited to share some more of our 2017 favourite wedding photos! These are a few images from some weddings that we especially love. You can find part 1 of this post here. One of our favourite things about being Vancouver Island wedding photographers is all of the different people we get to meet and all of their unique stories and different ways that they share their wedding day with their loved ones. This post takes us to a few Vancouver Island wedding venues from Parksville down to Victoria and over to Galiano Island. All of these weddings were not in the home city of the couple ..read more

Happy New Year everyone!! 2017 was a fun season with fantastic weddings, newly made friends and so much fun that we are sharing a few favourite wedding photos. I can’t pick just one as there are so many from each wedding I thought I would include a few from each showing the venue the couple and the party in a few posts. So this one is part one and covers the most fun Greek wedding at Bird’s Eye Cove Farm near Duncan BC, a really special wedding with my cousin on her family’s southern Ontario farm, complete with performance with her band The Allen Family Reunion and one heck of a part ..read more

Hornby Island Wedding

Last September we were so thrilled to photograph our first Hornby Island wedding. This gem of an island is my most favourite of all the small islands around Vancouver Island. The gorgeous beaches, old growth forests, and dramatic cliffs of Helliwell Park are just a few of the reasons and Melanie and Julian chose beautiful Sea Breeze Lodge to have their wedding. Their Hornby Island wedding ceremony took place on the beach on a warm and sunny September afternoon. We were perfectly times to be out on the cliffs of Helliwell Park for the gorgeous early evening sun. I ..read more

Downtown Victoria Wedding

I like surprises and this downtown Victoria wedding was the perfect surprise. With not much time before their wedding Connor’s sister called me asking if there was a chance I was free as her sister was planning a wedding and it was coming up soon. In no time Connor and Steve had such a fantastic day planned it made me wonder if they are on to something – great days can be planned fast! As this was a small affair I shot it on my own and while I miss Aaron when I don’t shoot with him it is nice to stretch myself and work solo. I loved so many things about this day and especially how it really sh ..read more

Warm weather finally turned up here on the west coast which means its time for a Victoria BC engagement session! It was a long winter here in the land of the mildest winters in Canada, so while our winter was meek compared to other locations, it was long and grey and wet for months and we were all feeling it. We were thrilled to have a warm evening that held off the rain for this engagement session with Marley & Lucas. We were connected to Marley & Lucas through wedding planner Tam of Blue Lilly Events and we are so glad that she thought of us for these two! Marley showed up looki ..read more

It’s spring and wedding season is almost here so now is the time for a Vancouver Island engagement session! Here is just one image from a recent session on the beach. Engagement sessions don’t need to be posed or over styled. My favourite couple’s sessions are simple and real with two people who are so into each other they forget that we are even there. They are also a great way to get to know your wedding photographer before the wedding day. We include engagement sessions in some of our packages and offer discounts on them if couple’s want to add them to other wedding photography packages. If ..read more

So excited to share this lovely Merridale Ciderworks wedding! It is especially nice that our relocation to Shawnigan Lake means that this place is now practically in our backyard! Merridale Ciderworks is a really fantastic wedding ceremony and reception venue. For couples looking for a farm feel with all of the amenities this is an easy choice. Beautiful grounds with orchards, forest and water features as well as an indoor/outdoor feel to the reception area brings a lot of nature to your day without having to leave the venue. Dara and Jin wanted to keep their day fuss free and focus on all the ..read more

Sea Cider Farm Wedding

Alicia and Brandon’s beautiful Sea Cider Farm wedding was one of our favourites from this past wedding season. Not just because of how stunning it was but mostly because of how lovely these two are. When a couple walks in and says that we are the only wedding photographers they have contacted and really hope we are available on their date it really means an incredible amount to us! These two really had a vision for incorporating their love of west coast forest landscapes into their wedding day. One of the reasons they chose a Sea Cider Farm wedding was because of the new and incredibly go ..read more
