I will preach this until the cows come home: do you. Create a wedding day that is all about you.  That’s what these two did. They didn’t want the big wedding, so they tied the knot in their living room with only 4 family members present.  Then we hopped in a limo with the rest of their family and toured the city, taking photos all over the river valley.  After dinner at @xix19, we enjoyed incredible desserts from @laboulebakery, while a Bob Marley dance party broke out in their home.  And it was the best friggen day.  Because it was all about them.  Florals ..read more

You know when a couple just has that thing? Where they couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces if they tried? And everyone around them is beaming with pride for them? Well, that’s these two! Here is the story of their fall wedding at The Lake House. When I finished high school and moved away for college, my parents moved three hours south to Peace River. Shortly after moving there, I kept hearing about these amazing new friends they had made, Ken and Susan. It wasn’t long before they were traveling together, first on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean and later a road trip to Alaska. And the ..read more

Luckily, there are only a few steps to getting an Alberta marriage license. Start by finding your local Alberta registry agent office. Both of you will need to go to the office with your identification within three months of your wedding date. Each of you needs one valid piece of government-issued photo ID, such a driver’s license or passport. If you have been married before, you will need to take your proof of divorce, annulment, or the death certificate of a deceased spouse. The government fee is $40 and the registry agent will charge a service fee. You should expect to pay between ..read more

Your job is to be present and enjoy the events of the day as they unfold. Your parents This is a big day for your parents. As much as you have dreamed about this for years, they have as well. Palm Springs Couples Session – Megan & Kade – Edmonton Wedding Photographer

Every time this summer-loving Edmonton wedding photographer travels to Palm Springs to visit my parents, I get the itch to shoot in the desert. The colours at sunset, wind in my hair, (and desire to never come across a rattlesnake) warm my heart. The mountains, sunsets, and diversity of scenery are so different than what we have at home and it DEFINITELY helps that I can wear my flip-flops in February. It worked out well that Kade and Megan were in the Coachella Valley for a wedding at the same time I was there. Kade and I grew up together in High Level and have kept in touch over the years ..read more

The Edmonton Ice Castles are a hidden gem that make the perfect wedding photography backdrop. Sara and Kevin were married in Las Vegas a couple of years ago and were completely up for getting dressed up again and spending time being photographed at the Ice Castles. The weather might have been a bit different than Vegas, however, these two were absolutely amazing and kept eachother warm with lots of hugs and cuddles. The amazing men and women that create the Castles spend so much time building an epic attraction that makes for the perfect background for photographs. The beautiful thing about th ..read more

While a photographer’s job is to create art, a lot of our day to day is spent running a business. We get caught up on the business side of things (its a good thing I went to school for that) and the photography side is the creative outlet. Back in November, Barbara Rahal hosted the first #creativedayforthesoul, where about ten of us creatives got together to get back to our artistic sides. Activate the other side of our brain. Meet other creatives. Barbara had arranged for a model, straight out of Germany, to be our muse for the day. She is launching her modeling career in Canada and without a ..read more

Morgan and Dillon’s wedding took place on a sweltering day in August, in Harmon Valley, Alberta, less than an hour away from the place they first met. When they met in high school, I’m sure they would have never guessed that six years later, they would be tying the knot. They met in grade nine and began dating a year later. Dillon became friends with one of Morgan’s best friends at the time and they started to spend time together. Shortly after, they became friends and developed feelings for each other and within a year, were dating. Being each other’s first boyfriend and girlfriend, they have ..read more

Eric and Janay’s Yellowhead Brewery Wedding was a little different than the norm and in that, was perfectly tailored to how they wanted to celebrate their marriage. These two chose to forgo a wedding party and have a late afternoon ceremony on a Friday in July. Eric got ready at their home in Sherwood Park while Janay spent the morning with her mom, sister, and best friend and finished her bridal preparations at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald. The calm that Janay and Eric exuded was the perfect testament to how fitting the whole day was to their personalities. Janay wore a stunning lace gown an ..read more
