Hello friends! I’m *so* excited to share our latest collection with you today — it’s Justina X Ruggable and it’s jam-packed with color, pattern, and personality — just like I like it!
Working with Ruggable on this collaboration has been very dreamy. I’ve always believed that color is the ultimate mood booster, and it’s something I’m passionate about infusing into every aspect of my life. With this collection, I wanted to bring that same joy into your homes. Not only do these rugs look *so* vibrant, but the washable aspect makes them incredibly practical, especially with a busy household. It ..read more

Welcome to our Spring Opalhouse Designed with Jungalow collection available exclusively at Target. I designed this collection during a period of transition in my life. A time characterized by the caterpillars’ metamorphosis into the butterfly. This was a time when I began to work towards widening the aperture of my lens on life and learning to take in and notice alternative viewpoints. So, I named this collection “Bird’s Eye View” to symbolize different ways of seeing. The hero pattern in this collection is actually called “Butterfleyes” which depicts alternating butterflies and eyes and ..read more

As a child, I used to build worlds for my Barbies. I’d spend endless hours with my sister, Faith, crafting intricate realms, stitching tiny garments from vibrant fabrics, and fashioning furniture from corks, toothpicks, and bottle caps! Early experiences like these introduced me to the magic of design and inspired me to become a designer and artist. So you can imagine how excited I was when @BarbieStyle reached out about what sounded like a dream collab: Jungalow designing a room in Barbie’s dreamhouse !!!

We’ve had some interesting weather here in Los Angeles this summer (a hurricane AND an earthquake on the same day, then some drizzle and the pinkest sky I’ve ever seen, punctuated by a rainbow!!). As we slip into September, it feels like change is in the air. The leaves are going from cool tones to warm reds, oranges, and even pinks. It’s a time when Mother Nature shows off her versatility, so it seems like the perfect time to share that our latest Opalhouse Designed with Jungalow collection has arrived!
This collection was inspired by the changing seasons. We included nods to the wind ..read more

WE DID IT!! The Jungalow Pop Up has officially launched! It’s only been a few weeks but we are already feeling the love and community vibes. We got a DM from someone who was at Target talking about how much they love Jungalow, when someone else in the aisle told them that we have a pop up shop now! And they came in to the pop up that same day!! This is exactly the off-screen connection we were craving when we decided to launch the pop up. Connection, community, and lots of creativity – these are all the intentions we held in our hearts when we built the pop up. It was a dream come true to sha ..read more

The Hollywood Bowl is probably one of my favorite places in Los Angeles – music, nature, creativity swirling in the open air under the stars – who wouldn’t love it?! You can imagine how over the moon I was when the Hollywood Bowl asked me to design the merch for the 2023 Jazz Festival!!! This was a dream collaboration. I was so inspired that I immediately started sketching with a black sharpie. Even though I never shy away from color, I wanted to first conceptualize the designs in black and white to see what I was attracted to graphically. I wanted to include elements that represented the mus ..read more

Sometimes, as a creative, you sense things. You can see, feel, hear things that others may not. It’s part of the magic and the struggle of creativity to bring those things into reality in a way that others can see, feel, hear, smell, and taste them too. For those of you who have been here for a while, you know that Jungalow is a brand born from a blog. While Jungalow has been a digital-first brand from day one, I’ve always dreamt of bringing Jungalow into the real (offline) world. I imagined a space where we could connect as a community and create together, inspire one another, and hug ..read more

Spring is around the corner and I’m here for it! For me, spring symbolizes growth, optimism, and possibility: the dormant trees are starting to blossom, the days are getting longer now that winter is behind us, and everything is more vibrant and alive! For our latest Opalhouse designed with Jungalow collection, I wanted to bring that same energy into all the designs. This collection is packed with bold color, botanical motifs, and playful patterns. The inspiration behind this drop was “an artist’s loft” so you’ll see a lot of my original art sprinkled about in a bright, airy space we think any ..read more

Here in southern California, we just had one of the biggest rain storms we’ve had in years! It lasted a couple of weeks and now that the sun is back, the air is fresh, and everything is green and vibrant, I’m really craving spending more time outside. If you’re also looking forward to ditching those rain boots, getting outside, and feeling the grass in between your toes, I have just the thing (well… things, plural) for you: the latest Opalhouse Designed with Jungalow outdoor collection at Target! We’ve got outdoor seating, pillows, planters, and pom poms in this collection. So dust off those ..read more

Now that we’re settled in our new home, I finally have been painting again. For years I had been painting on small pieces of paper from our dining room table — I didn’t feel I had enough space to add an easel and larger canvases into the mix. But now I have the space for a painting area for myself in my home office and have been painting, incessantly, for the past few months — nights, weekends, over winter break — painting, painting, painting.
I am getting a lot of joy from painting my loved ones, imagined people and scenes, and self-portraits too. Trying to get a good likeness, but also work ..read more
