Here in southern California, we just had one of the biggest rain storms we’ve had in years! Now that we’re settled in our new home, I finally have been painting again. For years I had been painting on small pieces of paper from our dining room table — I didn’t feel I had enough space to add an easel and larger canvases into the mix. View from the Waimea Falls Park & Botanical Gardens I just got back from a vacation on Oahu with family. We spent the week on the beaches on  the North Shore, hiking up wild hills, eating from food trucks, playing games and decompressing. We even tried surfing for the first time.  It was a very mellow trip and great to reconnect with nature and spend some quality time with people that I love. I believe that tedious tasks can be made more enjoyable if they take place in a beautiful environment, and I tackled the design of our new laundry room with this in mind.  The laundry area at #JungalowByTheMountain was relatively spacious and perfectly functional but entirely lacking in personality and vibes — making the chore of doing laundry feel like just that — a chore.
