If you have children in your life, you likely remember their innocence when they are first born. Now imagine learning that little sweet innocent child has cancer. Who is Phoebe? Phoebe Rose is the daughter of friends of mine, Jenny and John Hoffman. She was born on August 8th, 2010. A beautiful, healthy and strong baby girl. It’s not at every wedding where the Father of the Groom can say, “Luke, I’m your father” but at Andie and Luke’s wedding Luke’s dad could, and he did. It was hilarious and I gathered from that speech entrance that this family (or maybe just this Dad?) has always made an effort to lighten the mood with a few jokes and personal touches. Andie and Luke opted for an intimate ceremony followed by a big party at The Mill St. Brew Pub and people came ready to party. I have to admit that some of my very favorite engagement sessions take place at cottages. The vibe is laid back, the memories are already part of the structure of the place, and I love hearing the stories that have come out of them over the ages. This cottage belonged to Erin’s grandparents and is where her father spent much of his life growing up. It felt like home.
