Tine K Home is one of my favourite brands. Their slow living philosophy focuses on the craftsmanship and tactileness of objects, which adheres to my own well-being philosophy too. So I was very excited to see the products presented at Maison et Objet. The 2019 Slow Autumn / Winter Collection is grounding with a harmonic colour scheme, that instils a calm and cosy but yet sophisticated atmosphere. For this release, they have introduced four new colours: Amber, Ocean, Terra and Walnut. The colours are inspired by nature and aim to bring the outside in: green and blue hues of a stormy sea burned ..read more

We’re halfway through summer and I’m trying to savour every day. A few weeks ago we went up to Hampstead Heath in North London as we often do, to throw a picnic in the green outdoors. I wanted to bring my favourite plates, cutlery and boards, to set a table equally dressed as for indoor. As I was looking for the more lightweight options, such a bamboo plates and compostable single-use plates – I found that the most sustainable option is to use plates and kitchenware that you already have. I wrote a packing list to make sure that we wouldn’t forget anything and then we set off to find that our ..read more

How to turn everyday objects into a beautiful display

Everyday objects can be beautiful in themselves and I think that they are pieces that should be on show in our homes. I like that the cutting board, as well as being a very handy piece of wood to cut all sorts of things on, also tells the story of the many loving meals it has been used to prepare. Same goes for my collection of ceramic bowls, that reminds me of the different markets around the world I’ve brought these home from and how they now form a unique collection together. I love every single piece that I own and they all have an impact on the wellbeing in my home. They all have a story ..read more

This is a series of posts that I will share based on my holiday destinations. The purpose is to help you find the design worthy apartments on Airbnb, that are worth a trip in itself. There is a plethora of homes on Airbnb, currently over 6 million listings worldwide, and you’ll have to spend hours to find the unique places that make you feel at home. I always look at Airbnb first as I love having a local experience when traveling. By staying in a flat, you feel part of the city,  as you go shopping for groceries in the local shops and run into the neighbours in the hallway. The series starts w ..read more

This was a gifted experience from Re:mind studio.  When Yulia first moved to London from Moscow, she was overwhelmed by the busyness of the city. Her solution? London’s first ever drop-in meditation studio. Re:mind studio is a beautiful and tranquil space, tucked away on a quiet street near the busy Victoria station. A sign on the door reads “Find Your Calm”, and as soon as you enter, you’re in the most peaceful space. People from all walks of life come here, to find a sense of peace in their day and spiritual guidance to challenges in life. The studio is a meditation, breath work and heali ..read more

Why flawed is the new perfect

Some very observant readers have asked what our plan is for the living room ceiling was. At the moment, the walls are done but the ceiling is still just the unfinished plaster. Truth is, we loved the depth and character that was added to the room. This made me think about what that says about the times we live in and the kind of homes we want to live in.   Images from my home I feel more and more that we are moving away from the perfect and polished, too much of Instagram has created a craving for what is authentic and real. We’re looking for simple solutions that can easily be replaced, chan ..read more

My kitchen transformation – Before and After When my husband and I moved into our new flat, we knew that the entire place needed a lot of work and the kitchen was the first place to start. We had planned for it to take no more than a few weeks but in the end it took several months due to several things in the process being prolonged. As you can imagine it was quite a testing time but I’m really happy to show what we ended up with. The kitchen before Our kitchen had previously intensely dark blue walls, with hard black floors and wooden cabinets from the nineties. The space was very outdated ..read more
