I am sorry to announce that we must once again postpone Woollinn, this time until June 2022. With the current restrictions in Ireland just recently being extended to the 5th March, it has become increasingly clear that large scale events will not be permitted to take place this June.   All existing tickets will be valid for our new dates: 16th – 19th June 2022 at the Royal Marine Hotel Dun Laoghaire.   We are currently working behind the scenes to ensure that the 2020 workshop timetable will be replicated for 2022. In the event that the workshop you have chosen can no longer be made ..read more

Woollinn: Dublin's Festival of Yarn

We are sorry to announce that the decision has been made to postpone Woollinn 2020.   It has been a difficult few weeks for everyone.  As each day passed it became clear that pushing on with the plans for a 2020 event would only serve to create higher levels of risk and worry for everyone involved – for our visitors, vendors, special guests, sponsors, contractors and for our own team.   It is also clear that this battle against Covid-19 is going to be a marathon and not a sprint.  Even if the limits on event capacities in Ireland were to be lifted somewhat by June, there is no guarantee that ..read more

Steve Malcom – Woollinn Workshop
Woollinn: Dublin's Festival of Yarn
by Nadia Seaver

Steve Malcolm is a Jamaican born, Vancouver-based knitter, with over 20 years experience in the art of knitting and a passion for cables. After falling hard for a $500 cream machine knit sweater in the window of a high-end menswear store in Toronto’s financial district, Steve was inspired to pick up the needles and teach himself to knit as he couldn’t get the jumper out of his head and didn’t have the disposable cash to buy it at that time.  His first project was, you’ve guessed it, a sweater. Steve has worked in local yarn shows honing his skills and knowledge of fibres, developed his signatu ..read more
