World Wide Knit in Public Day
One day every year, we celebrate the passion for knitting with fellow knitters around the world.
It’s a day set aside to Knit in Public and share each others company – or meet new knitters in your local area.
You can be a beginner, or maybe you have been knitting for years – everybody is welcome!
Join us for a free outdoor knit social in Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on Saturday 10 June 2023.
Spend the afternoon (1pm to 4pm) knitworking with knitters, crocheters and stitchers on World Wide Knit in Public Day!
You can find our WWKIP Day event here ..read more

**Disclaimer** I personally purchased this book. I am not affliated with the author, publisher or yarnshop. This is not a sponsored post.
I love knitting and wearing handknit socks.
There is nothing like a handknit pair of socks, made with your special skein of 4 ply / sock yarn.
When I heard that my LYS were taking pre-orders for Ready Set Socks by Rachel Coopey, I jumped outta my shoes and submitted my order.
When I received the book, I quickly flicked through it. I’m really like the general layout of the book, which is geared for knitters who want to be Sock Knitters.

As a Canadian knitter, I’ve lived and survived sub-zero temperatures, so it’s only second nature to think of ways to keep warm. Winter is full on here in Ireland and knitters are in their elements with handknit wear.
Keeping warm and cosy is the theme for our first Knit Along in the New Year.
I’ve selected 15 patterns from Canadian and Irish designers for you to choose from (* free patterns)

Hello Everyone,
We’re loving @laine_magazine 52 Weeks of Socks, especially the paperback edition making it an affordable over the hardback cover.
Our fellow social knitworkers were calling out for a knit along over the summer, however, it was difficult to get a consensus with a selection of 52 sock patterns to choose from.
We’ve come up with a fun way to select your pattern based on the week you were born or the week your birthday falls in 2022.
We recommend using Google to search for the specific calendar the year you were born.
Your birthday week, will correspond with th ..read more

Must Have It! KAL is our second knit along of the the year. We pay tribute to the Irish Knitters and the many women who knit Aran sweaters for their family and/or to earn a wage to supplement their income.
Aran knitting as we know it has elements of twisted and braided cable stitches against a background of moss and purl stitches creating the iconic textured fabric synonymous with the Aran sweater.
Here’s what you need to know if you wish to join the Must Have It! Knit Along.
Three Pattern options:
