Cameron Champ made birdie on 18 last Sunday to win the Safeway Open. The emotional Champ dedicated the tournament at the beginning of the week to his grandfather, Mack “Papa” Champ, after learning the elder Champ had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
This is Cameron’s second victory on the PGA Tour, but it will always be the most special. Champ reflected after the round saying, “I don’t know if it’s meant to be or what not, but to win here will prob ..read more

The main function of hybrids is to replace unforgiving long irons with an easier to hit club. These are not clubs designed to max out distance, rather they are engineered to launch the ball off the deck and attack greens from longer distances.
After the success of the TS2 and TS3 drivers, Titleist has expanded the TS line to include their new hybrids. While the hybrids will continue to release in the same year as Titleist’s irons, they are branded as part of the Titleist Speed Project family.
Replacing a very successful 818 H1 and H2 is no easy task, the 818 has been a favorite of ..read more

TaylorMade’s Slogan:
You Don’t Mess With What Works. You Work To Make It Better.
The TaylorMade P790 Irons have been one of the more popular iron sets of the last few years. So, when it came time to release an updated version, TaylorMade’s design decisions didn’t re-invent the wheel, rather they produced smart, subtle refinements based off player feedback instead.
A pioneer of the players-distance category, the P790 irons have always been about distance and speed. The chassis has remained relatively consistent with the previous model, featuring a forged hollow body filled with TaylorM ..read more

Unlike the radical change that saw the Titleist AP series retired and the T Series irons (review here) introduced, the Titleist 620 MB and CB irons only feature subtle refinements compared to the 718 MB and CB irons.
The MB stands for ‘Muscle Back’ and CB stands for ‘Cavity back’. And, although these are a continuation of a long line of players irons from Titleist, I still think it’s important to detail the changes and performance of these modern classics.
Both sets are forged from 1025 carbon steel and feature progressive blade lengths for premium feel and playability. The lofts and pro ..read more

I’ve been champing at the bit to get my hands on the Wilson Staff Model Blades since their release earlier this year. My opportunity to put them through their paces finally arose last week.
A modern adaptation of a timeless classic, the Wilson Staff Model Blade Irons are a real thing of beauty and a workhorse to boot. I took the 5 iron and PW to the course for some testing and couldn’t believe the results.

It was over a decade ago when Titleist last debuted a brand-new lineup of irons. This article is an introduction to the T-Series irons, the latest evolution in the ultra-successful lineage of technology-packed performance irons from Titleist.
In this review I detail the key technologies incorporated in the Titleist T100, T200 and T300 irons, dive into some launch monitor data, and submit a few observations that will hopefully clarify the similarities and differences between the T-Series and 718 AP series irons.
A Little Advanced Performance History
In 2007, Titleist launched the A ..read more
