Usually when you’re getting married outside (in England & Wales at least) you’re not having a legal ceremony - because rules - so couples have a legal ceremony in a registry office prior to the day, or on the wedding morning. But it’s worth noting that some registrars have always been keen to make an outdoor wedding happen, with a really pretty simple workaround. Some days you just come away grinning ear to ear because of the love two people have for one another, and this was most definitely one of those. Being able to share the day with Helen + Rabbi at Chequers Inn in Woolsthorpe, and see some past couples there to boot (because they clearly are great judges of character) was glorious. This was my final wedding of 2019, and it was a real high to go out on after a fantastic year of weddings. Abi + Mark got ready and saw one another for the first time at the Red Lion in Leytonstone on the morning of their winter wedding. The Red Lion has the most incredible upstairs (it’s great downstairs too, but in terms of a cavernous ball room with enormous ceilings and self-contained for a private party and reception, it’s quite special in terms of London pub venues).
