Welcome to Pink City – our new collection of contemporary patterns inspired by my recent trip to India. The designs for Pink City were based on my experience; I was looking for loose, practical garments for travelling and exploring. This mini-collection is not so much Indian in style, as a response to the journey, the abundant colour, and the craftmanship of the textiles that I saw while I was there. The collection takes its name from Jaipur, which was painted pink in 1876 to welcome Prince Albert and is still known as the Pink City. The Inspiration The markets of Jaipur are an absolute ..read more

We are very excited to announce the relaunch of our Tulip Dress! We have listened to your feedback and have acted on it. While the shape has been tweaked and updated, the biggest change is the addition of three-quarter length sleeves. As the Tulip Dress works particularly well in medium and heavier weight fabrics, it makes sense to be able to add a warmer version to your winter wardrobe. The delicate, darted shape of our new sleeves echos the tulip shape of the skirt. You can download the sleeve pattern HERE by double clicking and saving it to your desktop. Although we have made som ..read more

DIY Statement Necklace
Sew Different

I love statement jewellery and this necklace is such a simple idea. I love the way you can use up the pretty off-cuts of your fabric to make something that co-ordinates with your outfit. This khaki and pink one below, from Cos, was the inspiration for the project. I have used some plain wooden 25mm wooden beads from Beadpark– but you can find them lots of other places online too. The spacer beads to go in between need to have a large hole (at least 6mm). This makes them a little more difficult to find but it is really important to have a large hole so that your fabric can squeeze through ..read more

A 1960s inspired collection is something that has been simmering at the back of my mind for a while now. Lockdown has given me plenty of time on my hands and I, like many others, have found myself watching the Netflix hit series, The Queens Gambit. Our Gambit Collection consists of four garments: the Gambit Dress, which is perhaps the most memorable of Beth Harmon’s outfits. This dress was inspired b ..read more
