On today’s episode of Visibility Talks, I’m delighted to be joined by graphic designer and branding expert Liz Mosley. On today’s episode of Visibility Talks, I’m so happy to be joined by copywriter and Chief Word Witch Siobhan Strodes. I have been learning with Siobhan all year on a brilliant feminist business course led by Keri Jarvis so I’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know her more after being Instagram buddies for some time. After booking onto her Let Your Values Shine workshop it was great to realise – what are we all doing if we’re not actually talking about our values more? I just felt really encouraged and inspired and this is why I wanted to invite her on the show! In this episode We dive i ..read more

YOU AND BEYONCE DO NOT HAVE THE SAME 24 HOURS IN THE DAY
Making Your Business Shine | SEO and Marketing for Wedding & Creative Businesses

The most common problem I hear from women is that they always feel behind and want more time. But hear me out, I don’t think wanting more time is the issue. (Recognising your capacity and your self worth is the real thing (but the solution to that is not so easy to sell….) I personally despise the mindset of ‘Beyonce has the same 24 hours in the day as you do’. It’s unhelpful to say the least.  The real issue is how we determine our self-worth, how we recognise our capacity to want to do less, and how we find ways to not just cope better but thrive. Right now, we define our worth by what ..read more

And just like that….the podcast formerly known as the High Vis podcast, is now back, rebranded as the Visibility Talks.  It’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? I haven’t recorded a fresh episode for almost two years! WOW.  In today’s episode I’m going to talk about where I’ve been, why I stopped, and why I’m starting again. I’ll share why I changed the name AND I’ll talk about what’s going to happen this season. In Season 4 of Friends it was the one where Ross said the wrong name at the wedding in London, in Season 4 of Sex and the City Samantha becomes a lesbian for a while #relate, an ..read more

Owning Your Expertise

Today I want to talk about a slightly controversial topic – the concept of being an expert. According to the Oxford Dictionary, it is either a noun: “a person who is very knowledgeable about or skillful in a particular area” or an adjective: “having or involving a great deal of knowledge or skill in a particular area” From this definition, we are all experts in something. I’m making the bold claim in this blog that we start to claim that title. In my mind, an expert is someone who knows more than me about something. It’s all relative, isn’t it? Why we need to claim our role as experts As hum ..read more

Stop dismissing your past lives (what did you do before this business?)

I’ve been thinking a lot about our past lives. Not in a reincarnation sense, but in a what-did-you-do-before-this-business sense. I think we don’t give ourselves enough credit for all that came before and how unique that makes us in what we can share with those who work with us. What I did before You know, I didn’t pop right out of school knowing what I would do with the rest of my life and I’m guessing you didn’t either. In addition to the various day jobs I’ve had, I’ve tried a number of side hustles. At first, I thought it made sense to use my skills of constantly correctly spelling and gra ..read more

“I’m not good enough!” vs the reality

I’ve been thinking a lot recently (What with my Great Pivot and all) that one of my favourite Negative Nancy thoughts is: “I’m not good enough!” Ooh it’s a juicy one isn’t it? Here are five times it’s cropped up for me over the years I’ve been running this biz and what the reality actually was. “I’m not good enough to call myself an expert” Reality: I know more than the people who are listening to me. More to the point they want to learn from me, that’s why they follow me, engage with me, and pay me to be in their lives. It’s a completely relative term anyway. Don’t hang your coat on it too mu ..read more

I’m sorry-not-sorry for the click baity title but I wanted you to get your attention. I got rid of my Reviews page on my website and I wanted to share why I did it, what I do instead and why you need to do the same. You see, when we first build our websites, we might do lots of research and gather all the knowledge and stick it on our websites and not really be sure what we’re doing is actually working for us.  What you need on your website In my Visible Vibes membership I offer plenty of detailed trainings + resources on the pages you need on your website but here’s a general overview: T ..read more

Six Ways to to create your Best of 2022 blog post (whether you want to show off or reflect!)

Hello there! I’m delighted to be back with this bumper guide on how to create your best of 2022 blog post. In this blog I share a plethora of ideas so you can choose one to share your round up of the year. Why is creating a Best of the year blog post a good idea? In 2022, this was the year there was an air of “Getting Back Into It” after the pandemic. Every small biz owner I spoke to found themselves in peaks and troughs, working in fits and starts throughout the year even more so than before and it all became rather BUSY just managing to get through. But here’s the thing. If you didn’t do muc ..read more
