Orlando Health (Orlando, Fla.) broke ground on the $160 million Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion, according to the website beckershospitalreview. Noise levels in a hospital operating room (OR) can reach up to 120 decibels (dB)—the equivalent of a siren or a loud rock concert, according to a study published by the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America in 2005. Noise pollution, defined by the World Health Organization as noise above 65 dB, in ORs is a major concern, as it’s been shown to negatively impact staff well-being and performance. Urgent and primary care chain Village MD, majority owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance (Chicago), announced plans to close approximately 40 clinics in Florida and exit the market by March 15, according to the website beckershospitalreview.com. The move is part of Walgreens’ plan to cut at least $1 billion in costs, according to the article.
