Eleven members participated in the Sefton Park 5-miler on a damp evening last week. Phil crossed the finish line first for the club, achieving a personal best and setting a new club record. David also made history by setting a new club record for his age group, while Steve and Sarah both achieved personal bests. Over the weekend, a few members took on the popular Wilmslow 10K race. Thomas reached a Platinum standard, and Ian and Neil both achieved personal bests. The club had an amazing turnout of 44 runners at the highly anticipated “Round the Runway” race near Manchester Airport. Terrance and Georgina crossed the finish line first for the club, with Georgina even taking the top spot in her age category. Last Thursday, the Warrington 10K took place at Woolston with a great turnout from the club despite the hot weather. Phil led the club home, achieving another Platinum standard and coming in second overall. Hannah also performed exceptionally well, being the first lady to cross the finish line for the club. Simultaneously, the first of four Sale Sizzler races was held, where Michael represented the club as the first runner to finish. The club had an impressive turnout at the Colshaw Hall 10K on Sunday. This year, a new course was introduced, which turned out to be incredibly fast. Phil set a new club record for his age category and achieved a platinum standard, finishing first for the club. The inaugural race of the North Cheshire 5k Grand Prix series took place on a damp evening at Dunham Massey last Thursday. Despite the weather, there was a strong showing from our club members. Jonnie led the pack for our team, finishing 4th overall. Additionally, Jonnie, Phil, and Georgina each took first place in their respective age groups, while Chrissie broke a record in her age category.
