We are beginning to look for venues and we really want a vintage orangery/conservatory/glass house vibe. Due to where the majority of family and friends are based, we are looking for a venue around Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire. I have been searching extensively and have only found The Orangery Ingesture in Staffordshire and Sandon Hall also in Staffordshire. Both beautiful venues, but neither are perfect for multiple factors, we are still considering them but limited on site accommodation options is a point we're not sure we can get past. Wondering if anyone had come across any othe ..read more

Council registrar vs Celebrant?

My partner and I are considering doing the legal bits a few days early and just having a celebrant on the day as the cost difference isn’t much between them and it would mean we could have a more personalised ceremony - any thoughts either way or experiences anyone can share? submitted by /u/_peapuff [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Booking wedding band - via agency or direct?

Hi all - we're looking to book a 3 piece band for our wedding in the £1,500-£2,000 budget. We have been looking on websites such as Entertainment Nation and found a number we like. However a colleague of mine suggested they contacted and organised with the band directly which saved money. Has anyone done similarly and considered the pros and cons? submitted by /u/Ashamed_Accountant4 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Can’t get wedding insurance…yet?

Hi. Has anyone had any experience in booking wedding insurance a few months after booking their wedding? We have booked for summer 2026, but it seems that most wedding insurance providers won’t insurance more than 2 years out, so we’ve got a few months to wait until we can book insurance. Will this be an issue at all? I’m mostly concerned about paying deposits now for suppliers and god forbid anything happens, that insurance won’t pay out come our wedding day because we paid a deposit before we had insurance. Thanks! Edit: spelling error submitted by /u/DinosaursLayEggs [visit reddit] [comme ..read more

Need some advice with timings for an early wedding

So we're having our wedding at a village hall in a couple of weeks and I can't help but think we don't have enough planned in terms of entertainment etc and the timetable seems bare. The wedding starts early and I would really appreciate some advice from people who have had weddings that start early or people that have had weddings at a village hall? There will be around a 100 people in attendance, anyone else think the timetable seems bare? Getting really stressed over it all submitted by /u/Eucalyptus94 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Oxfordshire or Dorset/Somerset Venue Help!

Hello! Sorry if this is a repeated topic but some threats about venues have been so useful! My fiancé and I are looking for a venue to host our reception (or whole wedding if there’s a licence) as we’re more fussed about a nice party than a fancy ceremony. We’re looking for a country pub with chilled vibes in these areas for about 55 people. If anyone has any recommendations this would be amazing as it feels like we’ve been searching for ages! Most places are hard to find as searches are dominated by exclusive use venues! submitted by /u/edwinhazelnose23 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
