Review: Armani Luminous Silk Lightweight Liquid Concealer

It’s been a minute since I last used a liquid concealer (I tend to gravitate towards pot concealers), but when Armani launches a new addition to their Luminous Silk line, you just have to make an exception. If you’ve been following me for a while now, you know that I suffer from fairly dark under eye circles (if you haven’t read my experience with tear trough filler I highly recommend). So when it comes to concealers I have pretty high expectations. I’m looking for something to cover, while brightening, all at the same time as hydrating. It’s not like I’m asking a lot, am I? (hehe) Well I’m ha ..read more

Review: Glossier Bubblewrap Eye & Lip Cream
Empire Season – Toronto • Beauty Blog

I haven’t ever been loyal to any one particular eye cream. In fact, it’s probably criminal the amount I actually use the stuff – but I understand its importance, and as I continue to age I’m more keen to find what will work best for my needs. My sister recently introduced me to the Glossier Bubblewrap Eye & Lip cream, and honestly it’s a lovely little lotion for these delicate little peepers. Don’t let the Eye & Lip throw you, while you can certainly use this cream for both, it’s not like the texture of lip balm or anything. It’s actually pretty lightweight considering. The water-in-oi ..read more

A change of season brings with it a change of moisturizer. Introducing the latest addition to the Belif family, The True Cream Aqua Bomb Aloe Vera. Everything you loved about the original Aqua Bomb, but with an added hydrating punch in the form of aloe vera. This is a great transition moisturizer, from gels of the summer months to a heavier creams of the winter. The Aloe Vera provides a cool, lightweight formula that soothes irritated skin, while simultaneously delivering instant hydration. This moisturizer is perfect for dry, sensitive skin, but I think even normal skin types would find this ..read more

Review: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
Empire Season – Toronto • Beauty Blog

A while back I said that I wanted to start a series to review different facial peel pads. Well even though I’ve only been through a few different brands, the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads have already taken top spot (it’s no wonder they’re so popular). While the First Aid Beauty pads are considered a daily treatment, typically, like with other peels, I like to use them two or three times a week. These pads use a combination of lactic and glycolic acids to gently exfoliate, tone and brighten your skin. What makes these really stand out for me is that they are gentle enough for my sensit ..read more

Review: Farmacy Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya
Empire Season – Toronto • Beauty Blog

Hello, big fan of Farmacy here. I recently saw that the brand launched a new moisturizer, which just so happened to fall during the time of the Sephora VIB sale – so I tucked away my favourite Belif Aqua Bomb and added the Farmacy Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya straight to the cart. Another clean beauty brand (I clearly have a type) to grace my top shelf, Farmacy already makes my all time favourite cleansing balm so it was no wonder I was going to pick this one up. Typically I would go for moisturizers that pack a bit more of a punch for dry skin, but I’ve been t ..read more

Review: Herbivore Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish

I’ll be the first to admit that I often neglect my body when it comes to my beauty regime. There are so many skincare products I’ve reviewed on this blog, and very few of them are bodycare. But what better time to pamper yourself then right now during quarantine, right? I had been looking for a new body exfoliator – I’ve tried a few but always went back to my tried and true Lush Rub Rub Rub – that is, until now. Enter the Herbivore Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish. Herbivore is an amazing clean beauty brand stocked at Sephora, and while I’ve tried a number of samples in the past, I don ..read more

Review: Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Serum
Empire Season – Toronto • Beauty Blog

I’m no stranger to Dr. Jart+ products. I’ve reviewed both their Ceramidin line as well as their rubber mask on here in the past, and while I’ve always heard good things about their Cicapair line, for some reason I waited until now to put it to the test. Well was it worth the wait? I think it goes without saying that I should have tried this a lot sooner! The Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum was one of the few items I picked up during the Sephora sale. I’ve been on a no buy lately, trying to run through all of the sample size skincare products that I have stashed away. But I recently ran out of serum ..read more

Review: My Armani To Go Essence-In-Foundation Cushion
Empire Season – Toronto • Beauty Blog

For the past few months I have been trying to get through the various foundations I’ve accumulated over my time as a blogger, but when the lovely folks over at Langton Communications asked if I wanted to review the My Armani To Go Essence-In-Foundation Cushion (that’s a mouthful), of course I had to say yes. And boy am I glad that I did.  I was given the foundation to try in the shades 3 and 4 and honestly, both are a fairly good match for my skin. Shade 3 is perfect for my pale, winter tone, but I can imagine that shade 4 will be perfect when I have a little bit of sun.  I’m already ..read more

Review: Living Proof Color Care Whipped Glaze

Right. Guys. I’ve been dying my hair blonde for nearly two decades so I know all about brassy hair. I’ve tried just about every toning and purple shampoo and conditioner on the market and while I’ve certainly found some worthy products, I’m always seeking the best and literal brightest when it comes to blonde haircare. Recently, Living Proof launched their Color Care Whipped Glaze, and it’s not something I’ve ever seen before, so of course, I wanted to give it a try. I picked up the mini of the Whipped Glaze first to try it out, but after only a few uses I’m certain I will be picking up the fu ..read more

Review: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Universal Daily Peel
Empire Season – Toronto • Beauty Blog
by empireseason

I’ve always preferred chemical over physical exfoliants, typically opting into an exfoliating mask once a week or so, but lately I’ve been on a real peel pad kick. I’ve already reviewed a few different brands’ peel pads over the years on here, but I’m now determined to find the best on the market. So first of what I’m hoping will be a series is the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Universal Daily Peel. A little background, I was actually triggered to start using peel pads again after I stumbled upon an old package of Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads. I’m already a huge fan of ..read more
