Long time no see, I’ve been really busy with my professional projects, which you can watch as parts of some bigger videos, usually some festival aftermovies. But lately I had a chance to cooperate with my city authorities and create a brand new promotional video including timelapses, hyperlapses, drone shots, both usual and fpv, and 360 cameras shots. The music was composed specifically for this video by a great composer, who is also a friend of mine. Many people were involved, and what is really exciting is that they are all connected with our city – we have pleny of talented people here! Watc ..read more

Shooting as well as editing timelapse is an extremely time consuming process. It takes way more time than shooting a regular video, but the results can be amazing. But once you learn a few of them, you’ll be able to choose the one that suits your needs best, or take a piece from each one to create a workflow perfect for you.  RAWs or jpgs? First really important decision that you’ll have to make before you even start shooting is whether to go with RAW files or use JPGs. I very rarely use JPGs ..read more

Well made hyperlapse is always eye catching, but can take many hours to create. Both shooting and post production are very time consuming, so people are always trying to cut some time off each step. However without huge experience, it’s hard to say which parts can be done faster without sacrificing the quality of our shot. Some things can make us waste more time in post production than we save during shooting, or even make our shot impossible to stabilize, so unusable at all. Then you save a few minutes on shooting, but in the end waste 3 hours, because your shot goes to trash. The most import ..read more

Beyond The Time Blog

There are several techniques that let you create a video using photo mode in your camera, by combining still pictures in post production. And not all of them are called timelapse. I know that naming and differences between all those techniques might be confusing to some of you, as it was for me just a few years ago. timelapse I consider timelapse the main category with a few variations, like static timelapse, motion control timelapse or hyperlapse. So in this understanding every hyperlapse can be called a timelapse, but not every timelapse is a hyperlapse. Basically, timelapse is all about ta ..read more

Choosing the best camera for you is not that hard if you’ve got years of experience and you’ve tried pretty much everything that’s on the market. If you’re new to film or photography – it’s way harder. Today I’m going to share with you my thoughts and experiences about different camera systems that we can use for timelapse or hyperlapse photography, and for video shooting as well. As we stepped into a new year, it is time to present my brand new reel! It took me some time to prepare it but it’s finally here. 2020 wasn’t easy, but still full of surprises. It taught me a lot and made me think about not only limitations, but also about new possibilities. The last year was unique in many different ways.
