Where to eat in Umbria: the best restaurants
I just came back from a spectacular long weekend in Umbria and I gotta say, the more I spend time in the “green heart of Italy” the more I fall in love with it. If you’ve been reading my blog and following me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that I spend quite a lot of time in Umbria. “Why is that”, you might be asking. It’s because I also have Umbrian origins, and a spectacular family home in Assisi! My grandfather’s family was from Umbria but lived in Rome. During WWII, my grandfather was sent to live in Assisi for safety reason, and since th ..read more

A long weekend in Italy: the top things to do in Bologna
When planning a trip to Italy, the destinations that come to mind are usually Rome, Florence and Venice. Not that I’m blaming anyone, they are all one-of-a-kind cities and must-visits. But it’s my job to illuminate you on another fantastic Italian city that seems to be completely under the radar: Bologna. Known as La Dotta (“the learned one” for its world-renowned university), La Grassa (“the fat one” for its delicious cuisine) and La Rossa (“the red one” for its red rooftops and leftist political views), Bologna is definitely a destinat ..read more

The best things to see and do in Verona
Back in 2014 Luca and I spent New Year’s in Verona. Six years later, we returned to celebrate his mom’s birthday! I’m in love with Verona, It’s such a picturesque city and the Veneto region is filled with beautiful places to explore. Plus, this time I got to visit the city in summertime! We strolled through the enchanting piazzas, dined in delicious restaurants, wine tasted in a stunning estate, saw the Il Volo Concert in tribute to Ennio Morricone and had an amazing time. If you’re planning on visiting the city of Romeo and Juliet, here’s my travel guid ..read more

Where to eat in Ostia, Fiumicino and Fregene
From April to October, it’s tradition to head to the Roman seaside and indulge in delicious seafood lunches. The beautiful weather, the sound of the waves, the fresh breeze, yummy food, and chilled bottles of wine are more than worth the 45-minute drive from Rome! The Roman coast is characterized by different areas: Fiumicino, Ostia and Fregene. To get to these areas it takes between a 30 to 45-minute drive from Rome, depending from where you are. Here are three of my favorite restaurants in Ostia, Fiumicino and Fregene.

The most beautiful beaches in the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast has lots of beaches and hidden coves, it’s just a matter of discovering them. Since most beaches are enclosed by rocky cliffs, lots of them have sunlight for limited hours. This area is mostly characterised by pebbly beaches and steep crystalline waters. Getting to most of these beaches will require walking up and down a lot of stairs, but when you get to the beach and dive into the waters, the effort will have been worth it! For families that have small children, no worries, there are also some beaches that can be easily ac ..read more

Sofitel Villa Borghese Rome: a luxury hotel in a strategic location
Have you ever had a luxury staycation? A few weeks ago I was invited to stay at the newly refurbished Sofitel Villa Borghese in Rome. I live in the Eternal City so spending two nights at this five-star luxury Rome hotel in the Ludovisi neighborhood was a real treat.
Design and location
The hotel is lavish, recently redesigned in 2019 by French architect and interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel and situated in a former 19th century Roman palazzo. The location is one of the best in Rome (if not the best), footsteps from t ..read more
