Michigan is among the schools recruiting Auburn freshman Chance Westry, per Dushawn London. Westry entered the transfer portal earlier this week. Along with Michigan, Westry is also hearing from Memphis, Syracuse, Mississippi State, Georgia, Florida, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Maryland, La Salle, and Miami. Westry was a top-40 recruit in the 2022 class and is listed at 6-foot-6, 190 pounds. He only played in 11 games as a freshman after a preseason knee injury derailed his season. Michigan is one of six programs to conduct an in-home visit with Wofford transfer BJ Mack, as first reported by Jake Weingarten. Mack, a 6-foot-8, 245-pound, big man, is a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining. Iowa, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas,, and Butler also conducted in-home visits. Mack plans to start taking campus visits in April after the Final Four dead period. He began his career at South Florida and played three seasons at Wofford. Michigan freshman wing Jett Howard declared for the NBA Draft today, he told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. Howard will also be sidelined for the next month while rehabbing his ankle.
