The Wolverines overwhelmed Colgate with a seven-goal second period.
After a slow first period, the Michigan Wolverines unleashed a historic offensive avalanche to overwhelm Colgate, 11-1, and advance to the NCAA Tournament Regional Final. Early in the game, however, it was clear the Raiders came to play spoiler.
Fresh off upset victories over Quinnipiac and Harvard in the ECAC Tournament, Colgate had no intentions of playing “just happy to be here” hockey. No, the Raiders wanted to win and ruin the Big Ten’s undefeated opening round in the NCAA Tournament ..read more

The Wolverines will face the unlikely ECAC champions in Allentown tonight.
The Michigan Wolverines are set to face Colgate in their quest for that elusive national championship. Talented teams are a yearly occurrence in Ann Arbor, but no team has been able to match the feat of the 1998 team by winning four straight games in the NCAA Tournament.
Last year’s squad was the heavy favorite but was upended by the eventual champion, Denver, in overtime. This year’s Michigan team was expected to compete, but with such an influx of youth and uncertainty, the team wa ..read more

Mike Elston is spending spring camp pushing his position group to get to the quarterback.
In recent years, Michigan has built a reputation for being the country’s premier “Edge Rush U.” While that reputation is certainly well earned, the ability of the interior defensive line to get to the quarterback is just as much an important part of the team’s success.
But that ability has been shunted as of late. During the 2022 season, the interior defensive line produced just five of the 37 total sacks racked up over all 14 games — less than the secondary unit wh ..read more

“A great human being. Great football player.”
Quarterback Jack Tuttle transferred from Indiana to Michigan back in December. In that timeframe, he’s gotten to know his coaches and teammates better, especially those in the quarterback room.
This will mark Tuttle’s sixth season as a collegiate quarterback. Tuttle has been around longer than most, and he’s coming off a 2022 season where he was a captain at Indiana. In short, Tuttle’s seen enough and done enough for his evaluations to be taken seriously.
Tuttle was asked by the media on Thursday to evaluate f ..read more
