If you’re reading this, THANKS!!! It’s been years since I’ve written a blog post, but I couldn’t pass on the occasion — you’re now looking at a fully re-designed eatdrinkclt.com! Mine had always served as just a blog, and since then, I’d let that go… However, after talking it through and looking at their amazing portfolio, I saw the benefits of making the changes. I now have a colorful, dynamic site that allows you to get to know me a l ..read more

Sure, drinking wine is fun, but have you ever blended your own? You can make this happen by attending the Wine Blending Experience at the Ritz-Carlton right here in Charlotte. Sound daunting? It’s not at all. Every Wednesday – Saturday, the Ritz team hosts a wine blending session right outside the Hidden Wine Room (located in the Ritz lobby.) The program is lead by Jeniffer, a certified sommelier who has A TON of wine of knowledge. She walks you through each step, teaching you about wine along the way. Each station is staged with five wine glasses, two beakers, a pipette, and a sheet for ..read more

It’s hard not to be in love with Amelie’s French Bakery. I can’t get enough of their beautiful pastries, savory breakfast sandwiches, and tasty coffee concoctions. A Charlotte staple for twelve years, Amelie’s can be found in all parts of Charlotte: NoDa (original location), Park Road, Carmel Commons, and Uptown (Bonus! Amelie’s is also in Rock Hill, SC and Atlanta, GA.) Peaches and Cream Twice-Baked Croissant One of my favorite things about Amelie’s? Their seasonal menu releases. It’s as if things can’t get any better behind that counter and then, suddenly… THEY DO. (I had the pleasure of spe ..read more

I obviously love to eat but throughout my dining adventures, I’ve become enthralled by the most important aspect of food: the people behind it. That’s why I love the Piedmont Culinary Guild. PCG is a nonprofit that connects chefs, farmers, and all types of purveyors through education, recognition, and the sharing of resources. The link stretches throughout North and South Carolina, where hundreds of culinary professionals work together to create sustainable dishes with locally-sourced food. My first experience with PCG took place last fall during the inaugural Farm to Fork in the Garden at Dan ..read more
