Sigh. I’ve just ripped apart a sweater for the third time. The first time I didn’t do a gage swatch and it came out the size of a child’s sweater. The second time I did 3 gage swatches before getting a near perfect match and started happily knitting away. When I reached the end, it once again came out too small and was shaped weird in the neckline. I am shelving the project for now so I don’t go insane. Knitting is hard and I am discouraged. That is all.

dk weight yarn A has 50g/142 yards
dk weight yarn B has 50g/98 yards
HUGE difference, despite both being listed as having 11 wpi. The average worsted weight yarn is 50g/110yards.
How does dk yarn B get classified as dk with SUCH low density? As you can imagine trying to get the same gauge has been impossible with yarns A and B. Is it smarter when picking similar yarn for a project, to pick based on meterage?

I'm about done knitting the pocket on this sleeveless hoodie and am going to do the hood next. I'm definitely going to do the drawstring in the seafoam green, but haven't decided whether the hood should be the same color, or the multicolor of the body. Thoughts?
Pattern is Spring League Sleeveless Hoodie

So I’ve watched a few videos about intarsia in the round, and they all use a method using a provisional join type of thing where you make a big loop and then use that then pull through.
My question is, why could you not just knit your first stitch at the BOR, slip it back to the left hand needle and then “turn” your work( put left needle in right hand and right in left) and then proceed as normal purling the round. Once you get back to that first stitch, you would purl it, slip it back, “turn” and then knit the round etc

Hello! I originally learned to knit English style and am learning continental style as well. I’m not sold on either being better, but I want to get to a point where I’m comfortable in both so I can choose which I prefer for different projects.
Purling in continental style is what I’m finding so difficult, because you have to wrap the yarn around counterclockwise by pulling your finger down and I can’t get the hang of it. I know I will eventually through practice, but I’m wondering:
It is so much easier to just pick the yarn up through the loop while purling if I do it in the clockwise fashion ..read more
