Martha’s Vineyard Getaway

Things we took for granted earlier, we truly value them now. Like weekend getaways. A quick load of essentials, stuffed into a weekender and jetting off somewhere far, yet close. Exploring destinations close to the backyard. Those have always been my reprise after long continuous tiring weeks. Never giving much thought, spur of the moment plans, to discover something new or simply for dolce far niénte.  Getting the vaccines felt like a huge milestone. A reward for patiently staying indoors and a ticket to step out, with caution nonetheless. We snuck away to Martha’s Vineyard. Having only ..read more

Love Playing Dressup

I did a run-through of all the books I read last year and guess what … the number is 27! I read 27 books last year. This makes me just so excited. I love coming across new ( for me ) authors or a new book by an author that I have loved reading in the post and am always looking for recommendations for my next read. Even though I barely read 15 minutes a day, I truly cherish that little window in my day. Below is a roundup of the books I read in 2020. I’ve categorized them differently compared to last year’s list based on feedback I received to make it easier to identify the genre. 1. The last ..read more

DECORATING COOKIES TOGETHER – MAKING MOMENTS

These last few months, I feel Zoe is growing up so fast. Every day she surprises me with something new – a new way of expressing herself, a new song she heard somewhere, new words – big words!! Just last week, she started reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, just casually, while we were changing clothes. Wait! When did that happen? Those are some big words kid. A few days back, when I went in her room in the morning, she woke up and said – mumma, you are my best friend in the whole world. STAY STILL MY HEART. I texted my mom right then telling her about this, it was such a big moment. Lately ..read more

I have been meaning to sit down and share these pictures we clicked on the morning of Diwali, but life has been crazy these last few months and by the time I sit down at night, I am fast asleep by the time before the time even the laptop powers on. And then my site has been having issues last few months, I just havent been able to spend the time to fix it. This year due to Covid, we weren’t able to do things that we do usually, see all our friends, have big get-togethers, host a 100 people over at our place for a Diwali party like we’ve done for over decade. But that dint stop us from celebra ..read more

Zoe, my baby you are three. Such a strong-minded, free spirited girl, independent girl you are turning into. You have been so excited about your birthday – you have announced to pretty much everyone you’ve seeb that its your birthday coming up, even jumped on to one of my office calls and made that announcement. Some of the moments that I want to fold and store in our memory vaults, so we can together go through them and remember these growing baby years. Your sensitivity to when people around you are upset melts my heart. When addy was leaving for a trip for and mumma was upset, you ..read more

Zoe’ Outfit : Pippa and Julie Alice in Wonderland dress, Pediped mary-janes Last week Zoe resumed her school, four months after the lockdown started. Getting to the decision of having her go back to school was a tough one. I’ve had many sleepless nights going over so many questions, reading numerous articles, talking to a lot of parents, even our doctor. Never in our wildest ideas had we thought that we would be in such a situation, where the entire world would be riddled with such a situation. Lockdown, quarantine, social distancing – these were words we had never encountered. And her ..read more

Letter to my daughter – Motherhood Diary You start your sentences with “when I was a baby” making me realize that my baby is not so much a baby anymore And so I want to hold on to the innocent moments for a little longer when you come running from behind the door screaming peek-a-boo, my baby running into my arms you climb on the stool to get your cup from the shelf yourself, my eyes in wonder at how much you’ve grown And so I don’t want to say no to you, no matter how tired my eyes might be – when you come to me with your hands overflowing with books asking me to read them all. And then one ..read more

ALL THE BOOKS I READ IN 2019

One of the things I wanted to do last year was to get back to reading. Reading besides books saying goodnight to the moon or going over what the caterpillar likes to eat. ⁣⁣ I was hoping to read 1 book a month or may be even 1 book in 2 months would also be okay. Because with the speed of 1-2 pages at night and falling asleep somewhere in the middle of the 2nd page because the exhaustion is real! ⁣⁣I was just recapping all the books I read for a blog post – and wait – turns out I read 17!  17 books last year. And whilst a small feat for some – it makes me so happy. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Here are a few t ..read more

I am solo parenting for the next few days. Amit is traveling and this is the first time, I have been bestowed with this responsibility, well first time if you don’t count traveling alone with Zoe to India all by myself. To be perfectly honest – I am scared because I havent done this before. Amit and I partner on everything – like pickup, drop off, cooking, putting to bed, giving a bath, reading, playing…and he does most of the heavy lifting with this whole parenting thing. But here I am day 2 of running this show, solo – all by myself ( yawning as I write this post- that I actually starte ..read more
