Can I have my troops put on my stripes?

I put on staff next month and my ceremony is coming up. I wanted to have my troops put on my stripes. I’ve been told it’s not allowed but there’s no regulation on it. It personally would mean a lot to me if they could instead of choosing someone higher ranking. submitted by /u/Coolcars26 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

It used to be just $85 technology fee out of pocket now they raised the price from $750 to $870 plus the $85 so I would be $205 out of pocket for every class…. Anyone got any recommendations of where to go from here if I’m not wanting to pay $205 per class… submitted by /u/Spac-or-Bust [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Deployment retainability

So I got tasked to deploy, but this deployment would end up putting me a week or two before my separation date. I've read that you need 60 days past the end of your deployment in order to be able to deploy, which I don't have. I'm being given the ultimatum of denying retainability and never being allowed to reinlist or take the deployment(via extension or w/e). I'm not dead set on making this a career, but I don't want to rule out the option entirely. I've never heard of being denied reinlistment for not having the retainability for a deployment before, at most ive seen restrictions on self s ..read more

Has anyone been told they need to complete CBTs that will be due during their paternity leave before they can start it? Seems like something that can wait but they insist it should be done. submitted by /u/Juiceinator [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Safety told my leadership I called them.

I have good relations with most of my chain of command. Recently I was informed by my SNCOs and some LTs that safety informed my leadership that I called them to report something. What do I do? This is why I don’t utilize resources to ask for help or advice. Note: I did ask for the safety’s rep full confidentiality and he confirmed it would stay with him because I had fear of reprisal. Edit: spoke to safety. They informed me that they did nothing wrong by telling my leadership that I was the one that called and reported the accident myself (I was hospitalized) submitted by /u/Plane-Dirt-9956 ..read more

Is the Air Force medical clinic at Joint Base MDL really that bad? Fairly new to the base and need to update my annual profile/wavier that was issued 5 years ago. The receptionist said my PCM isn’t available for a “follow-up appointment” until a month out. In the past, this was always handled over the phone. Any medical peeps out there that can provide some insight as to why there is such a delay for something so simple? Is anyone else having similar issues at their base? submitted by /u/Ram-Rod1969 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to reach out because I'm feeling a bit lost and uncertain about my role in the Air Force right now. Last year, I was diagnosed with cancer, and after a tough battle, I'm grateful to say that I've beaten it. However, the road to recovery hasn't been easy, and I'm currently on desk duty since February 3rd, and it will continue until next year April. Being sidelined like this has been a challenge for me mentally and emotionally. While I understand the necessity of desk duty for my health and recovery, I can't shake the feeling of being useless ..read more

Cannon is THAT bad.

Why is it for years there have been dumbasses who are in complete denial of this place being THAT bad? (Just listened to the dumbest officer in my life try to defend this place because he can easily go to sante fe or other places in New Mexico without it fucking his finances so please excuse the rant) The crime is awful, the drug addicts walking around town are just normal at this point. The shifty 50 is horrifically corrupt and religion based and refuse to let the town grow since they’re all business owners and it’s just competition to them. The entire town lives off the survival of base, I ..read more
