Hello, I was hoping someone here might be able to provide some insight on my unique issue. So, I'm in a deployed environment right now. I've been here since April 15. I was not able to attain my marriage certificate until recently because the state of Georgia was dragging its feet, but I have been legally married since January 5th, which my certificate reflects. Question regarding the yearly clothing allowance. I understand the difference between basic and standard allowance but what year of service does the switch actually happen. Is it after three years of service or four years? "The Standard Clothing Replacement Allowance begins after three years of active duty and is paid at the end of the service member's anniversary month." It clearly states "after three years" so is that on the third year TIS since that will be after full three years of service or after reaching four years TIS? Hey all, As title says - probably a dumb or poorly worded question but trying to figure out how this works. Husband was at 5 year mark of 6 year contract and extended 1 year to take a 2-year assignment at another base.
